Am I safe running on Cobb Stage 1 OTS tune? AFR Seems High, Boost seems low on WOT

    Hi all!
Today I threw a stage 1 cobb ots map on my 2009 Speed3. I first noticed that it felt way faster when pulling (Yay!), but soon after I saw that I was only making low 13's psi boost. I also saw that my AFR was different on WOT, staying around 11.76. There was a bit of Knock retard in one of the pulls which was concerning me a bit. So far the only mods I've done are Autotech HPFP and Damond Motorsports Oil catch can. I'm attaching two datalogs I took today with the stage 1 tune on. I'm going back to stage 0 stock simulation for now just to be safe.

Are these logs showing issues that need to be addressed and do I need to get a pro tune for my car?

If you're going to run a Cobb tune, keep it on Stage 0, Cobb tunes are known hot trash. But really, since you've already sprung the $400+ for a Cobb AP, you should look at a Freektune OTS+ map. Safer, and you get a couple revisions for Justin to tweak and make sure your car is running well. Plus for $145, its really small price to pay for a professional set of eyes to look at your logs.

Thank you! I will check those out and get one. At what point would you recommend the more expensive freektune? He offers the one which has more revisions, and the cheap one. I plan to do a turbo inlet hose and a SRI from cobb. My bottom line is to have the car run safely while getting some extra power out of it.

Depends on what your goals are, I ran a ots+ map from freektune for years with my intake hpfp internals and downpipe works great. Even have one for 91 and 94.

Personally I'd say not before you toss a downpipe in the mix, but then again that doesn't mean you need one. If you're upgrading your turbo then you have to go bigger, standard bolt ons (excluding turbo and manifolds) you're fine with the it's+ map, you want a more refined tune with more power for your mods then get a full tune.

Cobb intakes are certainly one of the best for stock sized intakes good call.
