Thanks. Yea it took me a bit to figure out a technique to do it and find the proper tooling. With the plenum having that radius it definitely made things harder.

Threw some clear powder on the mani yesterday. I went with a new clear that's supposed to give a glass like finish. It really pops with the right light on it, I'm having a tough time getting it in pictures but you can kind of see it on the sides of the plenum and inlet elbow.

Got a bit more done this weekend. Picked up my radials from Micha;, engine mount changed out, checked fitment of the modified cable plate and got the shifter shaft on the trans modified to accept the new cables. Also spent a bunch of time cleaning the frame rails and trans, much cleaner but still a bit more to go. Next weekend I'll get the cables installed in the car. Oh yea, and the fail. Went to put the CS injector seals in and it turns out I totally misheard Micha when I got the car from him as it already has Cp-e injector seals on it. So the CS seals won't be going on.

Kind of sucks that you had to cut half of your shiny shift cable bracket out. At least that intake looks sweet.

I'll have a 3 inch intake going in my car in the next couple of weeks, curious to see if I'll need to trim the bracket at all.

Yea I took it back off so I can smooth it back out a bit. If you need to trim it it'll be very minimal.

This week has been good to me so far. I've gotten parts in the mail every night so far haha. All of the parts for the PI kit showed up minus the injector controller and relay wiring. I also got my new projectors from TRS, just waiting on new lenses now. I spent a bit of time yesterday smoothing out the cable bracket, it looks better but not perfect. I should hopefully be getting most of the fueling stuff in this weekend as well as finish up the cables. Then next weekend I'm hoping to finish up the fueling stuff and get the wiring all squared away. If things all go according to plan I should have the car done and ready to fire the first weekend of March!

Lastly, I decided to get the car tuned by PD. I'm looking forward to working with 2.0t03speed; to make some good power :)

You should see the carpet upstairs!

Thanks! Just spoke with Ryan on the phone. I'm looking forward to seeing what we can do with this setup!

I'm personally tuned by Will but I've heard nothing but good things about Ryan. Now whenever you get pulled over you get to wonder what the cop thinks of the "purple drank tuning" sticker lol

Haha yea I've known Will for a few years, he's a good dude. From what I've heard Ryan handles all the VT tuning. I'm not a huge fan of Cobb so I'll be dumping the AP after I get the car back together and can confirm that everything is kosher.

Only been pulled over once in the past almost 3.5 years. Hoping to keep that streak going lol. But if I do get pulled over I hope they've got a good sense of humor [IMG]

Once again, I didn't get as much done as I wanted this past weekend but here's where I'm at:

    - Passenger side fuel tank tophat is out and will be mounting additional fuel pump to it this week. This weekend I'll put it back in the car and run the feed and return lines and get it wired up.

    - Shifter cables are in the car but the bracket has to be modified one more time because one of the cables is in the way of the intake.

    - Vacuum lines are rerouted and I'm waiting on a vacuum block to connect them to.

    - Started stripping front engine harness to move some wires around.

    - Chopped up old brackets to mount the purge solenoid, ignition capacitor, and EBCS elsewhere.

    - Got the manifold all set to go into the car except for the vacuum fittings and I'm waiting on my 4 bar map sensor to come in the mail.

    - Figured out dimensions for a mounting bracket to hold both SS controllers, will make that bracket this week.

    - Started dialing in the shifter cables. I think I've got them just about right but 4th gear feels a bit shorter than the rest (it doesn't pull back as far as 2 and 6) and I can't remember if that's normal or not. It's also pretty touchy about going into 1st and 2nd. If I pull to the left too hard it won't go into gear. I'm sure I can get that fixed with more adjustments but I'm still unsure of the 4th gear thing, if someone could check that for me it'd be appreciated.

I've got a long weekend this coming weekend so I'm hoping to get a good chunk done and have the car fired or just about ready to fire the weekend after. Still waiting on some parts so hopefully that doesn't hold me up.

Welp, got a lot done this weekend and I'm pretty satisfied. Should be wrapping it up next weekend or just about. Car is up and running as of earlier today. Had a good chunk of fail but nothing that some extremely loud screaming and cussing couldn't fix. Can't wait to get the rest of the fueling done and start tuning with PD.

I finished getting the shifter cables in, my last revision to the bracket makes them fit about as good as it'll get with my setup. I still have adjusting to do, getting into 1st from a stop or 2nd from a roll is a fight half the time. The one cable that controls the left/right movement is holding the shifter a bit towards the right in neutral so I'm guessing that it'll be good to go once I get it centered. As for driving, I love it. The shift feel is super notchy and there's zero vagueness about where you're going with the shifter. Overall I feel much more connected to the trans.

Here's a quick shot of my engine bay as is (I still have a good chunk of wiring work to do) I picked up a coil tuck harness from Eric Yarbrough (search Mazdaspeed wire tuck on facebook) and all I can say is the workmanship is superb and the new harness feels and looks very high quality. I wouldn't think twice about buying another harness from him. Now just to find a better charge piping route to show it off a bit better...

Oh and lastly, after two months I finally got my plates for the car :)

Got my headlights done this weekend. The new projectors and lenses are just awesome. It's soooo much brighter than the shitty stock setup and crap lenses. The dual high beams are just dumb with how bright they are. I absolutely recommend this to anyone wanting good headlights and actually wants to see at night.

Other than that I did a bit more cleaning, changed my oil and started wiring up my second SS controller. This coming weekend I'll finish up all the wiring and get the feed and return lines ran for the PI. I got my base map from Ryan as well but didn't have time to get it on the car since I've still got a half tank of E50 in the car. Hopefully next weekend I can run through that fuel and get some logs to him.

Those headlights look good. I wonder if the euro spec cars have glass lenses. Back in my Supra days, we always used to buy the jdm and euro spec headlights since the US banned glass lenses.

If they did I'd be surprised. If they were I'd be they'd be pretty expensive as well. But these are just so bright it's wonderful. Hands down better lighting than 99% of any new cars sold today.
