Can't turn crank manually.

    Hey everyone I installed hpfp internals and now I am moving on to cleaning my valves. Spark plugs are out. Belt is off. When I tried to close the valves by hand it just hits a wall. Any ideas?

    Tires on the ground and in gear?
    The last thing you did, take back off.
    HPFP cam follower stuck in bore not allowing rotation of cam.
    Cam follower installed dry?
    Assembly of new internals for HPFP correct?
    HPFP spring retainers misaligned with spring keeper? Double checked with a tap of spring and plastic hammer to double check fitting of retainers into valley of spring retainer?
    Simple projects, some times just undo what you did.
    When you discovered rotation failure, reverse rotation also fail?
    Please don't use starter or more force. Think of previous steps and walk it through.
    HPFP Cam lobes move HPFP follower, that action moves pump shaft that compresses spring you installed with piston cup. Any of those wrong and you have a locked up intake cam.

    I had/have the car in neutral and on jack stands...About to take the hpfp back off and check everything again.

    * Took it off and the crank turns so was definitely the hpfp locking up. Not sure what went wrong, everything looks right and well lubricated. It was kinda hard to get back in when I installed it though.

    The cam has three lobes (triangle like) so the best way to install with the cam at the lowest possible position for follower position. This will allow the HPFP to sit as low as possible in housing as you reinstall. There is still static spring seating pressure on housing and bolts.
    That is the only forcing amount you should have. Tighten all three bolts evenly to allow the housing to stay aligned. The rubber o-ring seal could be cut by misalignment. You didn't drop piston? It's like holding a fish while unhooking!
