Hey guys, I need some help. I just bought a 2013 mazdaspeed 3 with a blown turbo and replaced that k04 with a bnr s4 paired with a grimmspeed 3 port boost controller. The car ran fine before the swap as I drove it to my buddies shop. But after we reassembled everything we had this problem and it has not gone away. This video shows the exact same symptoms I am having

    any help in greatly appreciated!

did you change the intake size with the swap? do you have a basemap for the new turbo and ebcs flashed to the exu?

I am still running stock intake. I don’t have a basemap just stock tune but according to graveyard performance I won’t need one because this turbo is a drop in replacement. I have not flashed the ecu for the EBCS but it seems to be working because you can hear it click when given throttle.

I will definitely give this a look, thank you

Also I meant bnr s2 whoops

The three port definitely works differently than the stock ebcs so you do need a time for that. The s2 also will push more air than stock. Not enough that you really need a tune for getting the car to run but you will need a tune soon

Yeah for sure, would it prevent the car from running though?

I’ve also cleaned and retightened all of the grounds and it’s all been to no avail

Unplug the MAF, try to start the car. Check your HPFP spill valve connection as well.

    Edit:
Also, with the key on, start a log (everything enabled) on the AP and try to start the car. This is likely to show exactly what's wrong, and you should do this anyway regardless of the results of unplugging the MAF.
