    Guys,

Last year, I was seeing some clutch slip at full throttle on the highway (just fifth gear, never fourth) that I attributed to a failing DMF or dying OEM clutch, as I'm at 112k. I went out and bought a LUK/Fidanza setup in preparation for a clutch job. After trying Enki's clutch deglazing technique, the issue not only went away, but it has stayed away for the past 1,000 miles - I haven't had any slip since then. Knock on wood, I'm going to keep driving it as is for now. I guess my question is that can a clutch or DMF fail in stages, where you see some slip, then it goes away, but then comes back REALLY bad and you better nurse it home? My other thought was that perhaps I have a slight rear main seal leak that got some oil onto the clutch disc, and that once it burned off, the clutch could grab fine again. Any thoughts?
