Perhaps. Yeah, that spool looks like a GT35, not an EFR7163...

I was referring to our old setup. Before the built 2.3L stroker and GTX3582, we were running the EFR7163 on the stock 2.0L at about 28psi and it made about 390 uncorrected. Now we are on the higher compression 2.3L stroker with head work and a GTX3582 pushing about the same horsepower at 20psi.

This graph is from a GTX3582, not an EFR. The comparison was in reference to our previous turbo setup. However, on the 2.0L engine, the EFR turbo only spooled a couple hundred rpm faster.

Do you guys have a vdyno on the 7163 from similar conditions? Asking because knowledge is power.

Dang, that ASL really influences things. An EFR7163 usually would easily hit 500whp (not stressing it) at my paltry ~500 ASL with a well-flowing setup (on the MZR DISI Turbo, anyways). And on the 2.3-liter MZR DISI, supposedly it spools faster/has superior transient response than a K04. Just out of curiosity, I wonder what the upper, "safe" psi limit is on an EFR7163. Any Ideas, @Enki 30psi? 35psi?? I'm going to run a 3.5-bar, most likely.

Our corrected numbers account for that by having us at 472 corrected. We are essentially at a 2.5 psi deficit up here right out of the gate. Baro sensor reads anywhere from 11.01 to 12.18 depending on where you go in denver/colorado springs. At sea level it will be around 14.65. It has a drastic effect on power.

Gotta love our dense, low-ASL DFW air, LOL.

Okay, here is the comparison between the EFR7163 on 91, no aux fuel and the GTX3582 on 91 with no aux fuel. Keeping it at no correction factor also so numbers are going to be low.

    Red is 2.3L GTX3582 and blue is 2.0L EFR7163

Keep in mind there are some pretty big differences in the engine between these two plots. The EFR 7163 is on a stock 2.0L, and the GTX3582 is on a high compression 2.3L stroker with a built head as well (cams, porting, and oversize valves/beefed up valve springs).

Dang, that EFR doesn't like the rarified atmosphere so much. To put it in perspective, my BNR S3 at ~24.5psi makes 385/380 (albeit with E28) in good weather, and it's only a ~42-43 lbs/min turbo. But even my 22psi regular fuel tune makes ~325/350 or so.

By comparison, the 7163 flows 60lbs/min - a LOT more. If I had one and the extra fueling needed, my graph would look a lot different down here in TX.

Yep, altitude sucks... But this new setup is going to make some power regardless of the altitude :)

That's still spring pressure (assuming 15 psi) at 3600 RPM and ~10 psi by 3200. Not too shabby, really.

    Thanks for this, Edge.

Looks like maybe 11.5psi by 3,100? Not that it's a huge difference ;)

We are finally getting more parts on the ST. As we maxed out the stock fuel system on 91oct at 20psi, obviously we need more fuel. To do this we are going to be running a double pumper in the tank with four ID 1050x's in the Port Rail.

We started work on installing all this earlier this week.

Started by dropping the fuel tank.

Getting the Double Pumper setup ready to go in the tank.

We also finally got to lighten up the front end a bit with the Deadhook Crash Bar. We are hoping to come in with a track weight under 3000lbs with the driver in the car.

Progress is finally being made. The car has dyno tuning date set for May 20th and as far as we are concerned, it can't get here soon enough.

You run out of injector or pump? Aren't these things DI now?

They are DI, and I guess technically we are out of both. The HPFP is dropping pressure on us, and we may end up having to replace it but that remains to be seen for sure. Having the Aux Fuel take up some slack will certainly help.

The in tank fuel pump has supported over 500hp on a couple aux fuel setups, but that is incredibly unreliable and we do not care to push that envelope.

FoST's have the opposite problem as us: upgraded injectors available, but no aftermarket internals. Argh!

There is actually an upgraded fuel pump that is in the works. They have one for a couple of the ecoboost motors though not the ST quite yet I don't think. Supposed to be good for up to 30% more flow. Its from Xtreme DI.
