The CS ebcs i had was definitely bad. No clicky with 12v applied. Luckily i contacted CS and they can provide me another bullet MAC valve.

Been super busy as hell. Sold our condo, bought a house with a yard. My son has his yard. Daddy has his 2 car garage lol Car wise, an oil cooler hose burst and puked 7.5qts on the floor. I luckily pulled over and shut the engine off before completely running low on oil pressure. My dumbass capped off the AN fittings on the oil cooler sandwich plate (until I could make proper lines) and didn't realize the pressure sensor would constantly report zero pressure. That was fun. Well I just replaced my grimspeed ebcs with another CS bullet MAC valve. Let's see what happens next. [IMG][IMG]

Well I'm speechless. Sounds like a spun bearing. Didn't even make it past 1200 miles. I give up at this point. Time to buy a used Toyota camry to putt around in[IMG]

Wtf is going on with these engines? If you had that oil leak and shut it off right away I doubt it would have been the cause of that.

I noticed an audible knock coming from the engine bay while cruising on the freeway. I pulled over to be safe. The knocking got louder and louder so I shut it off. I fired it back up 5mins later and it was definitely the sound of rod knock or a spun bearing. Oil level was on point and got towed home to prevent more damage. I can't fckn believe it right now.

The first engine failure could be blamed on the tune but this one? I would say something is wrong on the builders end if you spun a bearing already at 1200 miles. Did you ever hit redline, bounce it off the limiter or close to it?

Sorry to hear man, wtf is going on? Who built the engine again? This is all after the ordeal trying to pump the oil pump right?

Built to rev to 8k just like the last engine. So i revved it out to 8k no problem. At the tuners request of course. This time around I had the wot box installed to prevent a lean burn situation.

    2nd motor from Overspeed.
This happened almost 3 weeks later after the loss of oil pressure I experienced due to a oil cooler line bursting. But I pulled over immediately and shut it off and parked it for a week. I capped off the oil cooler sandwich plate in and out ports, but didn't realize the oil pressure sensor wouldn't read correctly. I then removed the sandwich plate and screwed the oil filter back on and everything was good. Oil pressure light went away

I hate to be that guy but there is a good chance the failure has to do with your oil mishap. Those seconds you coasted with no oil pressure definitely could’ve done some damage. Good chance you damaged a bearing and the problem got worse in the next 2 weeks. Might have created a hot spot
on the bearing and then it spalled.

    Hello friends. I'm still here.
Well, i'm all moved into the new house. The garage floor is epoxied with all the glitterz and organized enough for me to push the car in. My next plan of attack is obviously drain the oil and see how much metal particles come out. At this point i'm expecting to have to replace the ecoboost crank with another, manley rods, and new bearings. Hopefully not much more. Crossing my fingers the 2618, 87.75 bore pistons are usable. I do have a spare CX7 block in exceptionally good condition that can be sent to the machine shop if required.
My question is, how would you all approach this?

I'd pull the old engine or at least drop the pan and inspect the rod bearings. You can get the pan off without pulling the timing cover and it should only take about 45 minutes to do it.

If the rod/main bearings are trashed or you need to replace the crank just pull the head, pull the pistons and rods out the top then swap them into the CX7 block as you build it. Then you'll have saved time from fully pulling the engine out to tear it down and can worry about getting the old engine once your new engine is ready to go in
