Hello everyone, I am currently in the process of getting my CAI and I was wondering what people's opinions are about an intake with a heat shield and with no heat shield. I've noticed in a lot of videos of our cars, especially in Tuned by Nishan's vids (for example), most people seem to run open CAIs. Is there a big enough difference to warrant having a sealed area for the CAI ? I read some studies that show a discernible difference in intake temps but doesn't seem like these heat shields are widely used on our platform...

Don't worry about the heat shield for your CAI. From what I've seen their common on naturally aspirated cars and not so common on the turbos. A good intercooler is going to keep those boost are temps down way more than a bit of shield on the intake. Plus after it gets sucked into the turbo it gets heated anyway and the IC cools it.
