So I cam trying to replace my clutch master cylinder and get the clutch pedal out.

I have the pedal completely unbolted/unhooked and the clutch master is completely removed from the clutch pedal and for the life of me I cannot get either the pedal or the master out from under the dash ....

The FSM says to remove the steering shaft/unhook it rather and I see how this would give me the clearance to remove the pedal and then the master would fall out gracefully but ...... I have the bolt off of the steering shaft and I of course marked it with a sharpie to put it back the same way, but I cannot get it to come off, the shaft will not disconnect.

So yeah im fucking stuck like chuck

I removed and replaced mine without removing the shaft, just removed panels and twisted all kinda ways till it came out. Gen 1.
