Just got the car back on the road. Timing service complete. RMM installed. Rear springs replaced. Lower control arms and sway bar links replaced on the front. Thats the good part. Now the bad. Entire exhaust needs to be replaced. Main O2 sensor is dead. CEL shows lean at idle. Drove great for the first 30 minutes. Now I think the clutch is slipping. 3 times it felt like it wanted to stall out in 1st and 2nd gear (from start and downshift). Also appears that rear driver side is leaning (only tire that rubs). Also needs an alignment. I named this car correctly, its clearly on a mission to trap all of my monies. [IMG][IMG]

I do not think the situation is as dire as it seems. Test the clutch by cruising at low RPM in 6th and accelerate, if she slippy time to replace, if not could be something else like maybe a bad slave going bad.

New exhaust? I saw an HKS on the bay earlier today. It will not fix your CEL but it sure does sound nice.

Yeah, Im gonna take it for a highway run tomorrow after work. Hopefully its not the clutch and just the slave cylinder. Nothing is leaking. Yeah the shop told me the main o2 sensor appears to be dead, which is likely triggering the lean at idle code. But yeah, they also said the exhaust is rusty toast. I was looking at this one, its on my watch list. Going to replace the downpipe too. [IMG]

That's not so bad, hopefully o2 sensor fixes lean. As for the leaning and rubbing on the bright side, you get me suspension all around which will make for a great ride. Although unfortunate that it's more cost one after another

Yeah I havent been able to figure it out. It actually didnt start rubbing until i put the new wheels and tires on it. I thought replacing the springs (i already had them) would fix that. It needs an alignment, I will have them take a look at it to see what we missed.

Since it is the drivers side that is rubbing i have to ask a personal question.

    are you really fat?

Yeesh man, i know that sucks. I'm redoing some wiring for my '09, never expected to be fuckin' with it since it isn't that old but AZ dry heat takes it's toll I guess. I guess it's expected at this mileage too. New wheels and tires will likely cause that love rubbing

The lean at idle is a vacuum leak, should be easy to fix, just look for any cracked hoses or caps between the MAF and cylinder head.
For the clutch, just do a lot of clutch slipping during engine braking and that will help recondition the surface. I glassed mine twice and it still held 400 WTQ after a foot based resurfacing.

I just put 35 highway miles on it, it drove just fine. No clutch slip, no gear grinding.

Just drove it home, I dont think the clutch is slipping, I think its misfiring. In whichever gear, when the RPM is between 2500-3000, ot starts acting like it wants to choke off, pressing the throttle and it responds like its choking. I have to downshift for it to respond normally and power is applied as expected. Will check all the hoses and caps tomorrow. I changed the spark plugs weeks ago, they were gapped at .028 and the car ran fine. No CEL after installation.

Check your Crankshaft Position Sensor. My wiring was fubar'd and now I'm fixing that. No CEL and it would buck at WOT or act like it's misfiring.

Anybody have a good known brand of o2 sensors? Upstream one is dead on the downpipe.

Just added the OBD Fusion app. The clutch isn't slipping thankfully, the issues are definitely due to the dead o2 sensor. I also did some on-ramp pulls for the hell of it. Car needs a lot of love. Im up for the challenge. [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]
