I got all the valve springs seated and detents in place. The "Lisle 36200 Valve Keeper Remover and Installer" worked amazing. I actually would suggest getting the dual Lisle 36050 kit if the smaller one is smaller then the 36200 as the removal tool is almost too big and can score the bucket walls if you are not careful. So if anyone buys the Lisle 36050 let me know.

    Parts Needed
    Removal
    1. Removal is really easy. Get the tool aligned and wack it with a rubber hammer.
    2. Keepers will get pulled into the tool as it has a strong magnet
    3. The retainer will also stick to the magnet.
    4. Once you get the hang of the force needed to do this it works really well.
    5. While you are in here unless your mileage is pretty low you should look at replacing the valve steam seals too.
    6. Just use a pair of needle nose to wiggle and pull them , does not take a lot of pressure.
    7. You will have to remove all the valves for this so keep track of what hole each one goes to unless you are lapping them.
    8. If you are feeling wild and want to clean the head pretty easy just put it in the dishwasher with normal detergent and hot cycle, dry it off and wd40 the insides when it is done. Worked great for me but mine was not super gross may want to pressure wash at a car wash if it is crazy dirty.

Put everything in a nice place.

    INSTALL
    1. Install the new valve stem seals, just find a deep well socket that fits nicely and push them down snug.
    2. Put a rag under the valve so it can't move.
    3. Oil and install spring.
    4. Oil and Install retainer.
    5. Put keepers into retainer and then press down with your thumb to seat them they won't go all the way but will grab the stem a bit and get in place.
    6. Now Use the Lisle tool and line it up with the middle of the valve at this time you also want to line up the spring so it is centered. Push the tool down so it sits flat against the retainer.
    7. Hit the Lisle tool with one good wack of the rubber mallot, it may take a few tries but a solid hit should do it.
    8. Profit and rev to 8k

It's not super difficult but does take some time. Don't over oil the buckets as you might drip some out onto the head gasket when going to install the head. Just a very light coating for now. You can keep the buckets and cams out until you are ready to set valve lash.

I have taken it up to 7500 without issue. I know the OG thread for these they used them for auto x and nobody had any problems. I am still doing break in so not been too wild on my car.

Thanks for this post. I'm going through some valvetrain issues currently and think I need to do the same thing. I need all the encouragement I can get as I have let my car sit way too long and really want to get it back. Thanks again.
