Little dongles are pricey & I’ve got a couple of each end, figured it possible

You’ll need a solder, wire strippers/cutters

On the lightning side, you’ll find 6 wires
RY, GR, & GY can be soldered together for grounding
Red is right speaker
Green is left speaker
Silver or gold is your mic
(You can cut this out if you don’t need it)

Followed these 4 wires down to the female 3.5mm
Marked their posts on the jack
You can also plug in a male jack to test the rings with a polarity tester to know which is which & wire accordingly

Soldered each tip to corresponding tabs
Now the iPhone plugs into my aux I installed using Vansquish how-to

Two types of females I’ve ran into
Lots of polarity testing, but fairly easy to figure out.

I had all the tools so I saved about $20 & the cord is much longer
The cheaper lightning cables will burn up pretty quick. I used the factory headphones for the lightning & aux extension I had for some selfie stick that I kept for the extendable handle lol

Doing the life proof dongle next just to sharpen my soldering skills & I’ll take more pics to add of finished product.

First one I did
Hope that helps !
