It's been a while, but the kit was from xenon depot. It came with the harnesses, I added the capacitors to the kit. I think it was about 150 bucks, but the quality is much higher than the cheap kits. I also upgraded to true Phillips 4300k capsules which added to the cost. But I can't stand blue light.

I looked into LED, but the beam patterns are really bad, not even close to as good as HID. Basically you have two point sources with a big top and bottom shadow from the bulb. That pattern does not work well with our projectors or reflectors. Also the depth of the emitters if at the wrong focal length.

My HIDs give me a slight ground shadow from the electrode on the bottom, but overall the beam pattern is solid. I just left halogens in the high beams, my low beams are so good with the Phillips capsules, that I rarely use the highs anyway.

Yeah, I hear ya. Those are valid concerns. Ultimately, it boils down to the quality of the design. There are some Auxbeams I've seen lots of info on (including YouTube vids/testimonials) that make me feel very confident that they may be a viable option. Plus, since I can get them on Amazon Prime, I return them easily/get full refund if I'm not satisfied. Here's some info (a pic) about this I put in another thread regarding the LEDs in question:

    Their middle-line with highest lumens:
Their high-end line with slightly less lumens, but possibly better beam distribution: https://www.auxbeam.com/88621846

If you try these and they work out let me know. I might give them a shot in high beam or fogs.
