There is a battery inside the actual key or just in the remote? Wish I had a cool flip key. Or a smart key like my other car had.

Actually I prefer the clutter. You never know what kind of great ideas that can stem from a single thought.

    Nice save!

I wish I had a cool switchblade key.
Maybe I can figure out how to steal my own car. The criminals are able to bypass the immobilizer. Or are they steeling actual keys from owners?

Here is a video of the light flashing. Don't mind the humming sound (it's my windshield wiper motor going around and around since my wipers were on). Freaked me out at first.

Also contacted the seller and asked if he has the spare key. And confronted him about the mileage discrepancy. We will see what he says.

Hate to be the one to tell you this but it might be a dealer trip. Some guys at the old forum had this problem when fooling with the ecu and wiring harness. I think it is basically that the car thinks it was being stolen and shut everything down.

If my memory is correct it takes like five minutes to fix. Assuming you can get your car to the dealer of course.

I sure do hope in this case that you are wrong. One way to find out. I contacted the seller, he did find the Key. So I have that going for me. Does having both keys benefit me in some way in this situation ?

I am actually doing that today
[doublepost=1500729660][/doublepost]I just reread. Imobilizer is a dealer trip. It can get set off when fooling with the ecu harness.

I think the juans are also more sensitive to this. So win number 2 for the pu lol

They always tell me, "Gen win" but I am starting to see why that would be false. What a pain in the ass. Is it just a immobilizer reprogram or do they reflash the whole ECU? Point being, the AP is still installed and may become worthless once the ECU changed.

When the dealer flashed my ECU the AP was able to reflash no problem. Gen Pu ECU though, and the immobilizer was not involved.

So I decided this weekend is the weekend I am going to finish the car. Rain/shine I have 20 hours of uninterrupted time to button everything up. And of course more parts are missing. This time it's the top and coolant line and both banjo bolts for the turbo. While I have the turbo off I fixed the damaged threads on the oil drain tube. I suppose I'm off to failbook to see if anyone has these parts. No one in California seems to be on here.

When I confronted the seller about the mileage discrepancy his responded in disbelief. He swears up and down that the mileage was not that high when he parked his car. Is there anyway the ECU could have been swapped? Or does the mileage memory stay on the odometer?

Buddy had to do that, called Cobb and they let him send back his AP to get reset so it could be remarried to the car as long as he showed them the receipt that Mazda reflashed the ecu. He just had to pay shipping.
