This for a 2006 2.3L MZR DISI. I’m trying to find the stock dimensions so that I can figure out what bearings to order. Piston Rings too. My Mazda shop manual does not cover the bottom end.

I had a motor sent to the machine shop several years back. I am just now getting around to assembling this thing. I’m a professional procrastinator. I can’t find my paperwork from the machine shop telling me what bearings I need. So I’m trying to find the stock dimensions so that I can figure out what bearings to order.

You need more than just the journal sizes on the crank. You need to properly measure the main line journals with the girdle torqued down to get the housing bore sizes.

If you do not have the proper tools for this you can use plasti gauge to get bearing clearances.

However, based on the questions you are asking my recommendation is to have a qualified professional assemble this motor for you.

Yes those too. I figured that was a given. I typed this in a hurry and regrettably left out a few details. It yes I need all of the stock dimensions.

Do you have the stock dimensions?

If this isn't a brand new block you should probably measure everything. If you're willing to risk tolerances being out of whack, you can order the bearings from Edge or contact them for part numbers.

Here's what I have for stock bearings on my list (I don't use stock rod bearings, however, as my crank is not factory):
    Mains bearings (DISI-MZR):
    MS2245H

Edit, found more info; note that this is uncited from a text file so use at your own risk.

    The speed 3 crank specs:

    The block/girdle ID is ~58.42mm or ~2.3"
The crank main OD is 2.045" (51.943mm)
Crank main available width on crank .835"
    Crank main bearing width .747"
Main bearing thickness ... I forgot to get... I think its ~.115" but im prolly wrong.

    Rod ID 2.16"
    Crank rod OD 2.045"
    Rod bearing width .655"
    Rod bearing thickness .055"
Rod bearing available room on rod .78"
Rod bearing available width on crank .665"

so I ask for stock dimensions and now you think it’s safe to offer your 2cents on what I’m qualified to do or not do. You don’t know the first thing about me or my mechanical abilities. I simply need stock dimensions for the bottom end and what I don’t need is your holier than thou BS. You and your convoluted sense of self are the exact reasons these forums fail. It’s because of clowns like you. You had nothing to offer yet you opened your mouth and removed all doubt that you’re an ass. Why?! Why would you act like this? I wanted dimensions not your input on what you think my abilities are. Can you offer any assistance with the question? Do you have a maintenance manual that would shed some light on dimensions I’m asking for? Give me the pub number and I’ll gladly locate and purchase the manual and get the data I’m looking for. I haven’t been able to find anything reliable so I figure the friendly folks on the Mazdaspeeds forum will likely be able to help and I’m greeted by the community asshole thinking he knows what my abilities are. FUCK YOU!

Lmao, not even a remote chance in hell I'm the reason forums fail. How you just responded is exactly whey they fail and most will not give you a second attempt at help here.

I literally provided you with info about other things you would need besides just some basic spec and here you are on a fucking rampage with no basis.

Your comments made it clear you were struggling with something that shouldn't be struggled with if you had the proper mechanical abilities to do the job and do it properly.

You have no clue what I've done for this platform, the advancements, the products and help I've countlessly and tireless provided for the last 7 years. So before you bash an OG to this platform who has done more than you can ever dream of doing for it I suggest you check your convoluted sense of entitlement.

I have the entire Engine Building Service manual that I was going to be more than willing to post and give to you, but now you can go fuck yourself and spend the money on it if someone else wont give it to you.

Kindly go fuck yourself right back

@Speedyhawk101 full manuals etc are posted by Meicalnissyen in the metal member section, yes it's to help support the forum. donation will make them accessible. Enki was nice enough to share the specs with you. Reading Lumberjack initial post I think he was getting at the fact that loosing important documents like the machine shops specs that you need is no ideal.... however no we do not know you mechanical abilities. Bickering between the two of you isn't going to help.

Speedyhawk have you tried contacting the machine shop to see if they still have a copy of the paper work? (I don't like to assume things like this around here as plenty of people dont try that). If the shop still has it then you can go with those specs :) if not, best of luck using the spec's enki gave you

Not by me, but there is a huge amount of data available for the small fee of showing up your first day with your dick in your pants, and the normal demeanor of one who is asking strangers for help.

    or 25 bux

    there is that

the old forum had a statement that maybe of use paraphrased here:

Your first post at MSF is like your first day at prison; you're gonna get tested
