About 4 days ago I went through a puddle and it shut my car off completely and now it won’t crank or start at all. Nothing sounds like it’s engaging. looked at the fuses, starter, battery and I even took the spark plugs out to make sure there was no water in the engine but nothing! Also cranked it manually and it turns. The one thing I did notice was when I took my top mount intercooler off, there was some water in the throttle body it looked like as well as a little bit of dirt?(photo below) Does anyone know the cause of this? Also my battery has finally died from trying to turn the key so much and the car just sitting that now it won’t even jump start. I put the jumper cables on it and let it sit for a bit but right when I press the brakes the dash lights go off and the gauges flutter around. I’m completely lost on what to check with the car. Could it be a ECU problem? Or Antitheft problem?

You should probably have your battery tested at an auto parts store. I don’t think connecting jumper cables automatically means they will be enough to overcome a failed battery.

Also, you said you checked the starter. What do you mean by that?

Antitheft will flash on the dash if it's activated

I tried to tap it while someone try’s to turn it as well as the cables on the starter to see if maybe they were loose after I hit the puddlebut it was all good. I checked the battery with a multimeter but I can get it checked to make sure but yeah no crank or start. Just really hope it’s nothing super bad.

It flashes every 1-2 seconds when I have the key in and try turning it. It flashes exactly how it does without the key in the car

I'm not home to check my car but pretty sure the anti theft light turns off completely once you put the key in

So do you think it might be my car for some reason going into anti theft mode? I find it so strange that it’d happen after going through a puddle.

It wouldn't be the first time I heard of a Mazdaspeed getting stuck on antitheft for something stupid

Mine continues to blink when I insert the key, but when I turn the ignition to the ON position it stops blinking.

My buddy still looking at the car but he is able to get the car cranked after jumping the starter but it keeps blowing a ignition fuse every time? Any thoughts?

That is pretty wild. I have seen a lot of CPS just going out for random.
