More WOT Smoke w/ 100% Methanol after Oil Overfill?

TL;DR seems like more WOT smoke after oil overfill/WMI installation (happened around same time).

I know to put 6 quarts in when I change the oil, but for some reason all my oil didn't drain out and I was ~1.5 quarts overfilled. Full-on Batmobile smokescreen mode on highway. Fixed the issue quickly (<5 miles), tuner said very low chance of damage because I caught it so quick, but now it seems like I have a lot more smoke at WOT. I'm spraying 100% on a CM7, so I'm hoping the methanol will clean all the oil residue out of the IM and valves from the overfill that caused the severe smoking (engine was gulping oil and plugs oil-fouled). I'm thinking the excessive smoke (brownish/black, not white or blue), is from the methanol cleaning out the oil that got everywhere b/c of the overfill. Anyone had similar issues?

Logs/power still looks great, as does compression (~180 all 4 cylinders).

P.S. Figured this goes here, but Mods can move to T/S if that'd be better.

No insight, eh? I'm going to do another warm compression test in a little while. I may do a leakdown too.

Maybe you're noticing the smoke because you're looking for it. Turbo + DI + meth + wot is gonna make some nice exhaust.

    I didn't think you'd respond! After all, I am catless :D

All jokin' aside, I did consider that possibility. Now I'm always peeking in the rearview when I WOT. For all I know, I'm scrutinizing that which was already occurring, LOL. Hopefully another compression test and a leakdown will chill me out.

Hahaha. I get a decent amount of exhaust with my BNR, especially if it's cooler outside.

Still gotta get to the bottom of my methanol not spraying, but have been too busy.

In the meanwhile, I did a cold start today, let it idle for a few minutes, then free-revved up to ~6k a few times and saw some puffs of while smoke. It was about ~75 outside, so I don't think it's condensation. I am catless, BTW. When just idling, there's no smoke.

Anyone else have experience with this? I'm concerned about either ringlands due to the oil overfill, or the seals in my BNR S3. Bryan at BNR assured me it would take a long time of overfill to mess up the seals (rather than my minimal 5 miles of driving before realizing the problem and draining the excess).

Compression/leakdown test on the docket. Hopefully that'll calm my nerves, haha.

You're on a coolingmist kit? Basic boost switch kit or full gauge kit w/ their FSB?

Basic w/ boost switch. But meth isn't currently spraying anyways. Need to T/S. I think the pump went bad.

If you're tuned for 100% on a 7gph nozzle and you're not spraying at all, you'll probably be seeing a lot of KR and your IDCs will be higher than usual. KR will cause your afrs to tank and thus doodoo exhaust.

That's the thing: neither of my tunes are setup to be methanol dependent. I have a switch to enable/disable the system between runs and the tiny little bit of KR I get (acceptable levels Justin was okay with) zero out, my BATs go down, my IDCs go down and my AFRs stay fine (thank God for PU O/L fuel trims). My goal was never to be methanol dependent, just to have some IDC relief, cooler BATs, and cleaner valves. So my tunes definitely don't push it, and I can take or leave the meth spraying on both my 93 and E28 tunes without any KR or AFR danger.

Update: now that my methanol system is finally fixed -- long story - it was a bad pump, but I also decided to re-wire the whole system because some gremlins popped up when I was diagnosing -- I've been making sure to go WOT at least once every time I'm rolling around in the car. I figured spraying methanol will help clean out the remnants from that oil overfill. Also, I had my EGR re-enabled recently for inspection, so I wanted to clean out any gunk from that as well.

If you want to see my methanol journey (setup, installation, tuning results, troubleshooting, re-setting up, etc.), go here:
    http://mazdaspeeds.org/index.php?threads/bnr-s3-methanol-awesomeness-i-hope.931/

It appears that what seemed to be much greater-than-normal WOT soot/smoke was in fact oil overfill remnants, and that spraying 100% methanol with a CM10 has cleaned it all out. Now at WOT, I hardly see anything at all in my rearview mirror.

Update, now that the methanol has been spraying again for a while, a major portion of the WOT smoke is gone. I'll still get some soot, and bouncing of the rev limiter will of course cause this, but it appears that 12.8GPH of 100% methanol did an amazing job of cleaning out the remnants of the oil overfill. It also appears to have raised my compression numbers! o.0

More on that in here: http://mazdaspeeds.org/index.php?threads/methanol-to-restore-compression-d.3379/
