Do you have a link to that thread or something similar? I can't keep my CS TMIC from heatsoaking under moderate / high load in anything above 70f.

Everything but the shroud, haven't bothered to spring for a used one since I am thinking to go FMIC anyways. Is the difference that big with the shroud?

The shroud is part of the ducting for the tmic. It will not work as well without it. That being said a top mount still heat soaks for the obvious reason...it’s sitting on top of your hot AF engine lol. Once it’s heat soaked you get moving it takes time to cool back off but without the shroud it will take longer/be not as effective.

real heat soak occurs when your heat exchanger can no longer dissipate the heat it is supposed to. So your bats/whatever temps will just slowly rise and that’s where your decrease in performance comes. Hot air, not as dense = less sauce. My previous stock block tune was setup to take power away after bats exceed 55c bats. This is a very low limit but I requested some safety as it was my stock block. This would be an example of heat soak robbing performance(aside from the obvious that hot air=less power). I ALWAYS tried to keep bats below this 55c limit. I was pretty successful until I installed my oil cooler in front of my fmic.
