I just got off the phone with the dealer here in town. My car is going under the knife tomorrow at 8am for both driver and passenger airbags. The parts do exist, it just may be a question of triaging with respect to locale. My car was originally a Houston-driven vehicle, and has ended up in the rust-belt for the rest of its life so far. I suspect, as a result, that my car might be higher up the list than others.

Cool Cool. If possible could you ask your dealer for the part#'s needed? That way I can press a little on the dealer here.

No problemo. Also, they appear to have done it all without unhooking the battery.

On the bright side, nothing has blown up yet.

I made an appointment earlier today, they said they just released the passenger side as well. They are doing both of mine on the 2nd.

I think I may have to choke a bitch...or Dealer. Ima get both order one way or another. Still playing game that the parts aren't available.
[doublepost=1456426554][/doublepost]UPDATE: I win. I called a buddy in the parts department, he found both parts available to order for my car. Had him pass the word to the service department so I didnt choke them through the phone. Thanx again for part number @Vansquish

Sorry to hear that! It may be that they're triaging the vehicles that have been in hot/humid climates first and moving on as more parts are produced. You could always try a different dealer to see if they say the same thing.

FWIW Mall of GA Mazda said they are having problems with ordering the parts and people not showing up for their appointments. So they have the parts (passenger and driver) in stock and are for now doing it first to keep their appointment, first serve.

The Speed6 is getting it done as we speak.

Can any Mazda dealership swap the airbag? The one here in town is not Mazdaspeed certified.

Yes. It's the same set of parts on the regular MZ6.
