I'm starting a build log for my motor build mostly just going to be me documenting my journey building my DD MS6, with it being a DD I can't have her down for very long.
So I do things as I can and have time for.

So yesterday I secured myself a blown motor, dude I picked it up from said the motor had approx 75k overall clean motor but there's some detonation damage to cylinder 2.
From what I was told, kid went BT on a OTS cobb tune, looking at the parts he didn't have any HPFP internal and looking damage this is what I can gather, he ran cyl 2 lean as a MF and detonated and blew the rings. Damage isn't horrible, I'm not a machinist but I know enough to know that's not just honing out lol, but it's enough that it's going to have to be over bored yayyy big piston time!

Here is the damage mentioned, cant see the snapped ring but the cylinder wall damage is obvious.

I got the entire long block, DI injectors (2nd extra set) & rail, 3 extra oem coil packs (I now have 7 extra lol), and new to me red mazdaspeed oil cap (I've wanted one of these for awhile now), and an oem intake for $300 plus putting some gas in my coworkers car to go pickup the motor all in for the motor I spent $325

I posed before about my original to me motor going ZZB 45 day into owning (as many before me, rod 4 let go and said hello to the world) literally just driving the car, but I think I left out that the car already had a pretty rough life before I picked it up.

Previous owner/s, dealer/carfax couldn't tell how many hands this car had been in previously.

But there where some mazda dealer visits on carfax, while I was picking up parts one day at my local mazda I had them vin search my car for dealer records and any tech notes that may be there.
We found some useful and also useless information.
Around 33k service was done, including a full clutch and flywheel and replacement of 1st gear in the transmission, and an alignment, this must have been what caused the damage on the passenger side of the car.

Being on a shitty reman LKQ motor (very shitily installed under warranty, the very easy wiring was a rat's nest and LOTS of things connected to the exhaust side of the motor where loose and the hood latch was now broken, front bumper wasn't holding anymore and boost leaks on both sides of the TMIC.)

Let's just say when I got the car back from the dealership fiasco I I alot of cleaning up to do.

I haven't posted anything I've actually done to the motor currently in the car at all, so here is all that.

As stated before this is all on/in a shitty reman motor (no idea of the internal quality of this motor)

    Motor mods and supporting mods:
Auto Tech HPFP internals (E85 oring kit ready but have yet to install them, I'll get around to it in the near future, I don't have plans on running E immediately, just planning ahead a little and needed to reseal mine as it leaks a small amount of oil past the main ring.)

Freshly cleaned and flow tested DI by Jordan at OM Injector Seals to match.
Stock K04-881 with 882 hot side (old one was cracked at the internal wastegate and part of the external housing, I think this is where my boost leak was originally but could never see it)
Kosmic Oil Feed Line/Graveyard Oil Return
Ebay Turbo Inlet Pipe w/recirc blocked off to Stock Airbox
    JBR boost tubes
Grimmspeed 3-port EBCS (Running 2 port)
Very fresh 1 Step colder NGK plugs
HKS SSQV BOV (some of the drivability issues that people talk having with these about can be driven around to an extent, but it can upset the car very easily)
    3' Catless DP stock catback
    DM PMM AND TMM
    Cp-E Xflex RMM

All powered by a shitty cobb tune for me to put around on until I have things set up to actually tune it (that might not be the smartest idea but I'm running with it, babying it, and keeping an eye on logs.

    Trans Mods:
XTR Stage 1 - 6 puck sprung clutch (Modified Luk replacement, rated for 25% more power over stock)
    Fidanza FW
TWM stage 3 Full short shifter kit with solid shifter bushings

the guys at speed performance hooked me up on the clutch kit and FW short notice and helped me to get the car back from the dealer because the old clutch kit and stock FW where toast from PO.

This is pretty out of order but it is what it is.

Looked at the IM that came with the blown motor and found a treasure, CS 3.5 bar map sensor!
