Some FMIC's are a real tight fit and may not lend a lot of room for the cooler core. That and the fact that there are so many different FMIC setups...

It may just need some mounting brackets bent into a different angle on both the oil cooler and FMIC core. If you are willing to set aside the time, I'm sure it can work.

Some guys with vagina's that post on forums prefer "perfect fitment" and don't want to put any work into things. Hence "may not fit" disclaimer.

NOT a cop out but thanks for your input. Cold side piping makes it pretty much impossible to run the lines to the filter housing in a decent manner.

tbh i could care less about perfect fitment as long as it works.

I'm failing to see how this isn't FMIC compatible. I already have power steering lines that run up behind it. The mounting position of the core on the Gen1 looks ideal and gets a lot of face time with air.

Mount it over the steering wheel and just keep blowing on it while you drive.

Mr. Raider, I would buy one if people would post up testimonials. Also, the vendor stated that its not FMIC compatible with no clear reason as to why, but then posted pics with a mounting location that seem to contradict their original statement. Believe me, I am in the market for an oil cooler kit, but not down to waste my money due to rough draft R&D. Smoothing out development is good for the platform and others who are interested. I don't get paid by JBR or other vendors to hash out design flaws/improvements. Increasing compatibility/longevity would ultimately help sell more units. Sparking up ideas and solutions isn't bad.

(Edit) Saw his post abut line routing. 90* elbows could make it possible to route no?

Which FM piping kit are you working with?

I may need one, waiting to install a BNR first and will watch temps. If I do, you have my word I will measure clearances with my tr10 core.

I will also has Raider document me during the install while only wearing my banana hammock.

I’ve seen Home Depot PVC pipe intakes, vacuum cleaner blower motors, coat hanger brackets, and pretty much every other ghetto rigged device you could imagine. Where there’s a will there’s a way to do anything. Technically, you can make any oil cooler work for any car. It’s just a core and some plumbing. As long as the oil flows in the right direction and maintains pressure, cool air hits the core, and it fits somewhere in the car, send it.

Here you go, installed on a Gen 2. Ran one track day so far with the cooler and my oil temps stayed around 230F in 100F weather.

Here to add in my 2 cents and share my review of this oil cooler. I do not recommend this product.

I would suggest going Damond instead if you can afford the extra cost. The extra cost is worth the peace of mind of Damond's legendary customer support alone, IMO.
