The 2008 speed 3 is my first 4cyl factory forced induction vehicle I’ve owned other than a talon I drove 4 miles and it jumped time so I sold it. I absolutely love this little Mazda. I’ve been pumping money in it like it’s my job. Today I ordered a CST4 turbo, CorkSport FMIC , CorkSport egr delete , Grimm Speed ebcs, ngk plugs, and a new oem pcv.
I was originally going to go with the CST5 but after talking to CorkSport the CST4 will go a lot better with the stuff I already have. This is all new to me so I assume they know way more about this platform than I do. I’m hoping this set up makes good power for me and is a noticeable difference with what I have now.

    What I have now
COBB AP, Cobb downpipe, Cobb sf intake and air box , jbr rear mount, modified cat back stock exhaust(best way to describe it I guess), hpfp internals, HKS bov. Clear coat peeling off front fenders and hood( that’s gotta be and extra 10hp).

I want to order the 3” cat back tomorrow but I haven’t heard any of them. There isn’t a lot of speed 3’s around here. I don’t care if it’s loud but I prefer it not to be. I just want someone that’s got a deeper tone.

Your thread title makes no sense for the general discussion area, cool you ordered some goodies enjoy installing them and have fun with more power! First part of the thread seems like you're starting a build diary.

2nd part which is probably towards the discussion: thread title: "deep sounding gen1 catbacks?"

I think what you're trying to ask for is recommendations on deep sounding catbacks..

Since you're upgrading your turbo I'd be doing a turbo back exhaust not just catback.
"Gen 1 mazdaspeed exhaust". Into YouTube reveals

    Cobb
    Corksport catless

Well there is a reason for that. I’m pretty much forum stupid. That’s why I usually just read and ask a question when I have to. Thought about posting it in the diaries but what I’m doing didn’t really seem to be worthy of that , compared to what I’ve read in there.

I’ve watched all the videos I could find but it’s hard to tell from a video/sound clip.

Most importantly ......should I buy another down pipe? If the Cobb isn’t good enough I guess I will but damn that’s a lot of money if I can’t use it. Is it because of the cat in it?

Sound clip will be best bet to give you an idea what you like
Sorry didn't see your Cobb downpipe listed yes it's a good DP. I like the sound of the Cobb turbo back pretty deep imo.
Catted DP will flow less than catless however aftermarket DP with high flow cat gives you some good flow but yes it could limit you depending on your power goals.

Hey man if you are looking for a deep sounding catback, CNT sounds pretty deep. I am planning on going back to stock CBE or something a bit more quiet and have the CNT. I am running it with a catless do at the moment. If you would be interested I would create a FS thread and get it off the car.

    Probably around $250?
I just had stock exhaust welded and will probably put it on this week, so CBE will go up for sale.
