I know the Speed3 bumpers are not painted, the color is part of the manufacture of it.

Here, across the Pond, we call them Genpu's :D Anyways, I did some digging for you and found this elsewhere:

"I have reached out to our dealer assistance groups to determine whether there is a paint code for the front grille. I have just come to learn that the front grille's color is actually molded-in during the manufacturing process. Unfortunately we do not have a paint code for this piece. I'm terribly sorry to have to confirm this news.

Please do not hesitate to contact me directly should you have additional questions. Again, thanks for contacting Mazda North American Operations.

You can always just order an aftermarket or OEM replacement. Here was an aftermarket one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/2010-MAZDA-3-MAZDASPEED-FRONT-BUMPER-GRILLE-2-3L-TURBO-/180579589841?fits=Submodel:Mazdaspeed|Model:3|Year:2010&rmvSB=true&hash=item2a0b61ded1&pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr&nma=true&si=557pKIpjMm%2FfYegKkL3zlvM0ZIM%3D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

You can take it to a paint shop and have them color-match it to get a paint that matches the material's natural color, or you could color-key it to the rest of the car too, as an option.

Thanks for that bit of information. I did wonder if the whole grey section was removable. I assume the bumper has to be removed to remove it?
If no paint code is available I might get my local paint shop to match me the colour. The paint has peeled off a bit on the insert and I just wanted to respray it.

The center section is less than $100 US to replace.

I have seen people respray a gloss black, looks pretty nice.

I've also heard of people using Tuxedo Black or Black Mica, which also supposedly look very nice.

I bet they are more expensive here in England!! Black gloss would look good on my white mps with black wheels.

    Yes it would look nice!

If not broken, you can easily remove it for painting. Just need to prep it.

Does the bumper have to be removed to remove the insert?

When my Pu was repaired after a woman hit me in the right rear corner the body shop painted the rear insert as close of a match as they could find to the front insert. What they came up with was a BASF color, color code BASF MA725.30 ST. I've searched a couple times but had no luck verifying the color number or if there is a color name associated with it, all I know is the painter said it was part of their standard lineup. When he gave me a bottle of touch up paint he mentioned it was a water based base coat and needs clear over it. It's worth sharing with a paint guy and see what he comes up with.
