Hi all, I've done a quick search around and it appears that while it may be common knowledge for the old timers, there's no sticky or dedicated thread for the dreaded pulsing (pulsating) clutch prognosis.

    So, here it is.

You press gently on the clutch pedal and you notice a pulsing that you've never noticed before. You may also notice a knocking sound under the hood. I've got bad news for you, you have most likely bent a rod. Don't worry, you're not alone, and at this point you can count yourself relatively lucky that you haven't scattered your bottom end all over the road. You're lucky enough at this point that you most likely can rebuild your long-block, but this is only if you shut off the engine immediately and DO NOT DRIVE THE CAR.

In recent days I've noticed on two occasions MS owners have been mislead by mechanics/dealers by diagnosing this as a "bad throw-out bearing". Causing a large amount of unnecessary costs that are now piled on top of the reality that you need to shell out for a engine build.

If you report your own post in future it'll notify the whole mod team. Moved to 3 section as more are probably likely to look there. If I were a new comer I wouldn't he looking in the engine section for clutch issues.

Makes sense to leave in the troubleshooting knowledge base
