Ok, so I've started putting my 6 back into shape, mostly been doing some needed upgrades as time has past its just time to get the car a bit updated. So besides the performance mods there is visual.

Hard to say this but I'm raising the car up about an inch as its on coil overs but I'm worn out with the ride being in the weeds, craping over speed bumps has finally worn me down and the extra inch in travel I think will improve the ride.

I have had a carbon hood sitting in my garage that use to be on the car, I removed it 5 years ago due to clear just not holding up in the florida sun, but this remake of the car has me thinking maybe its a good time to bring back the carbon, it certainly could be clear coated again and I'm sure would look like new, but then I was thinking since the car is silver why no look into some of the silver tinting I've seen done, curious what others think of the idea or just clear coat and let the carbon be seen, clearly as it were.

That CF hood is rare nowadays. Even a rust free oem!

I saw a few folks talking about that fact..now I'm glad I kept them. I was going to give away the CF a few years back, but decided to hold on and my stock hood is very rust free. I'm talking to a painter about my tinting the clear idea, my thought would be to tint to the titanium grey but let the cf still show through...like a candy.

Yeah, New clear would be sweet even with a light shade to it.

Well raised the car up 1 inch today and I have to say it rides a whole lot better so I'm really happy with that change and really its just an inch so it still looks good but the ride is way better, no I have some travel and took out the bounce.

Now the side effects, going to need to replace the front axles, I've been noticing a click so I knew they needed to be looked at so while on the lift both sides boots wiped out and while the click I believe is the pass side's fault, the other won't be far behind...so there's an unexpected surprise...92k but probably 65k way down low, so not that much of a surprise. So I have that to look forward to.

I also decided it was time to rip out the old tint job and go with the latest ceramic 3m lifetime stuff, not cheap but the end result should be good.

I'll get some pics up soon, I really am not looking forward to the front axle replacement job.

Ok, so wondering if anyone would mind talking about front axel's , opinions on buying rebuilds from one of the many suppliers, I know there are more than one rebuilders so just wondering if one is any better than another..experience.

Its around 200 more a side to get new ones from mazda so that might be a option and just trying to make a good decision, having had the car for this long kind of means its not going anywhere. So this isn't a short term repair.

How about the job itself, I did the backs but that's a different animal, fronts don't look too bad to do actually...opinions?

    Thanks

Dta makes front axles. Axlestore on ebay. Makes awesome axles for ms3. Holds decent power too.

Funny you said that, that was my only real choice vs OEM...worth a shot and save a few to put into something else.

Hello, new here but wanted to chime in. DTA passenger side axle is know to fail pretty easily versus the driver side. I'm not sure why but it is a factor. honestly recommend sticking with oem, or the other ones that people have mentioned besides dta. I am running a dta driver side at the moment for about a month now with no issues.
