Well, with built motor #1 being over 83k miles and somehow still kicking, I figured now is the time to get the ball rolling on a second motor.

    Purchased/acquired so far:
    - 87.5mm wiseco one-off pistons w/ 12.5:1 compression ratio, gas ports, exhaust valve reliefs, etc (thanks Mark / @Realgib3 for the smokin deal on these!) these had roughly 2k miles of use on them.

-ARP Main Stud Kit Mazdaspeed 3
-Mazda OEM Water Pump Mazdaspeed 3 2007-2013
    -Massive Speed Balance Shaft Delete
-Massive Speed Oil Pan Baffle Mazdaspeed 3
-Manley Platinum Series Piston RING SET ONLY (have to see if these will work with the wiseco pistons as I will not use wiseco rings due to oil control ring issues... If not, I'll hit total seal with specs and get some from them)
    -Manley H-Beam H-Tuff Plus Rods w/ ARP 625+ Rod Bolts Mazdaspeed 3
    - Number:42548-4 Heavy duty wrist pins
-Mahle Clevite Rod Bearings H-Series Performance STD Size set of 4
-Clevite Main Bearing Set STD size

My darton sleeve order from amazon got canceled, so trying to find another distributor that has em in Stock. Will order again by end of week.

Updates for now will be just of stuff I order. But once I get the sleeves, will be dropping a motor, the sleeves and the pistons off for machine work!

Rods, main studs, and a set of rings showed up today. Will have to see if the rings will work, otherwise I'm getting the specs from wiseco and getting some elsewhere.

Speaking of which, the pistons are being dropped off to wiseco as well to have a thicker wrist pin made for them.

Are you going to have to run straight e85 on that compression set up, or can you still experiment with mixes?

I'll be running E48 in the stock tank and ignite red in the fuel cell for now. Should be more than enough ethanol and octane to keep it happy!

    Sleeves are here!

Block should be going to the machine shop sometime this week once wiseco is done making the thicker wrist pins for my pistons.

Also, cams and valve springs ordered from kelford. 6 week ETA with shipping from new Zealand on those.

    Kelford :(
As weird as it is to say this, I like the CS grind for our engines a lot more.

Too many people have seen no benefit over 600whp with the cs cams over stock cams for me to even bother with em. Otherwise I'd consider

So you're going high compression and over 600 WHP?

For anyone curious, yellow graph is from when Mark had these exact pistons in his car back in 2015. 93 in main tank feeding DI, e85 in fuel cell for PI, stock cams, low timing for the HCR pistons, and a conservative reverse tapered boost curve

    FB_IMG_1564432750733.jpg

Green is jakes old stock block 6266

Blue is my stock block, stock fueling 5858

And red is 93 octane k04

I would assume he would have to due to all the changes. I’m pretty sure they somehow balanced my rods and pistons with the crank too or something. I was under the influence that rods and pistons were balanced and then the crank to itself.

Will you also give them the fw to balance with all of it? I have heard of it but didn’t know if that is overkill or not.

I dont think that complete assembly balance is necessary anymore.

That used to be a common practice on old domestic V8's because the crankshafts were not balanced well enough on their own.

Maybe the flywheel can have its balance checked by the shop, but I doubt everything needs to be together for full rotating assembly balance.

I did a full balance of the assembly with the flywheel and the shop did take off a decent amount in places. They also said the weights listed on the rods were not completely accurate so they cleaned that up too. Maybe it depends on the machine shop but the one I went to they are pretty detail oriented and took their time with it. It was like $650 to have them bore and hone the block + clean, Deck and clean the head, Balance rotating assembly and polish crank. They also installed the rods to the pistons as I have read that can be a nightmare so I just had them do it. Not sure if it was totally worth doing but I wanted less nvh and was hoping that would help. Overall cost was not bad so it was worth it for me.

Chatted with Will from Purple Drank a bit last night. Talked cam specs. He mentioned the kelfords I chose are a slightly smaller/less agressive grind than what he ran on his ms6 when it was Making 860+awhp. So that's promising.

Also, ordered Headstuds from Justin a few days ago, and ordered injector seals last night.

Now to find an extra set of factory injectors to get cleaned and flow tested
