    Hey guys,

    2007 MS3, 145k miles, FBO, catless, E30 tune with accessport. Had the car for a year(no other issues) this problem started in November-ish; even on a warmer morning this still happens. Car will smoke quite a bit when at the first stoplight of the day. Smoke smells like oil, has a white/grey tint. No coolant loss, no noticeable power loss, oil loss almost 0 after 5k miles.

    I start the car in the morning and no smoke comes out(if I blip throttle on startup black water or something comes out exhaust). If I drive 2 minutes then idle at a redlight it smokes a decent amount after sitting for 10 seconds. It will smoke the entire time the light is red. When I leave the light I can see the smoke in the draft (in rear window). About 30 seconds later it stops smoking and if I hit another light it will not smoke at all.

    TDLR;
    - Car smokes at first redlight, smells like oil, then stops smoking. I’d say when it hits 155 degrees coolant.
    - It will also have white smoke if I ring out like second gear to 6k, the let off gas and engine break or whatnot (really just not upshifting or neutral). It will dump a lot then stop 2 smoking in five seconds.

    - Any ideas? Does this sound like a turbo seal? I have heard that’s more of idle after warming up
    - Running T6 5W-40

    That could be any one number of about 500 things, but based on experience only, if you have catch cans I would check for blockage in the catch can hose. Sludge can pool if the line has any dips or kinks and clog up the line, then melts when it gets warm and frees back up. I once had a “professional mechanic” tell me I needed a new head gasket because my car was smoking so bad. Pulled the hose from the valve cover, blew into it, it gurgled and then blew free a slimy pile of goop. Smoking stopped immediately.
