It is taking a while. They found a few misc things that need replacement or repair. Like they said my SPC ball joints were falling apart and needed to be replaced. So, they had to order some parts. Also, they are going to make a whole new downpipe. As far as I or they know, nobody makes an MS6 downpipe for Precision turbos. I had expected that they would hack my old downpipe to fit. But he said their fabricator recommended just building whole new. So, I'm not expecting to get the car back until next week.

As far as progress, the engine is in the car. They hadn’t started on the downpipe fab last I checked but I presume they are working on that right now.

In this thread, it was suggested I get a 4” intake instead of my 3.5”. Kozmic is also suggesting I change to a 4” intake. I wish I didn’t buy the JBR 3.5” now. There isn’t very many 4” on the market. HiTuned Performance makes a 4”. But their site says currently out of stock. CorkSport just released a 4”. But they only specify it for the MS3, not the 6. But, I suspect that it would fit the 6 as well. My battery has been relocated to the trunk, so, there is lots of room where the intake goes. I sent CorkSport an email asking them if it will work.

I notice that most larger intakes are of the SRI style, not CAI. I think up to 3.5” pipe could fit through the hole to the wheelwell, So I had planned on getting a 3.5” 90 degree elbow to convert the intake into CAI. At least I think 3.5” would fit. But, I don’t think 4” would. So, I think SRI is the only option for 4”.

Well, he responded and said $260. But, I have to provide coupler, clamps and filter. So the final price is not much less than CorkSport. And, he said he only makes it non recirc. I guess I don’t know all the pros/cons of recirc vs VTA at higher power levels. But I had planned on recirc. And I got a Tial BPV designed for recirc. So, at the moment, I’m leaning towards the CorkSport.

I’m not that familiar with the MS3, what’s that box beside your filter?

CS 4” intake is $370 + shipping. I think providing your own hardware and filters would still save you quite a bit of money. But yeah if you need it recirc, def go with CS. Also, have you tried emailing HTP directly? They might be able to work something out.

That is my aux fuel cell for my port injection set up sir [emoji16]

I decided on the CS and it is on its way. I guess I need to update my parts list at some point...

I’m rethinking my choice of CS for the intake. Word is that it hits shifter cables more than other options for the 6. That RamFab, with the filter running vertical instead of over to the headlight area, is that normal for the RamFab??? Or is that a customized RamFab intake?

His is custom to keep it hugging tight to the engine so he could run that battery and fuel cell. He can make you a standard style one and probably add recirc if you needed it but VTA is life.

He said it was VTA only. I guess I don’t know the advantages/disadvantages. I had been told that VTA throws away some of your boost. But maybe that isn’t a real issue. I really have no concern about the “psssh” sound of VTA. Also, I bought the Tial BPV designed for recirc. They have a different model for VTA. Though the recirc model could presumably also be run VTA.

You can 100% run that BPV in VTA mode as long as the spring is right and it does not leak at idle. With your mods you should be running a wotbox and doing flat foot shifting if you want to really make some jam which at that point the BOV gives no fucks. You will 100% want a wotbox with port injection anyways so add it to your list if it is not there.

I bought a WOTBOX years ago, never installed it. I will do so.

Progress on the car is slow. They hadn’t finished the fuel system yet. They said that their fab person does the work in a separate shop so they won’t send it out to the fab shop to build the downpipe until after everything else is done.

Ramfab certainly seems like a good product. I started a thread going in the CorkSport section about their 4" intake. Someone said that the fitment is terrible on the 6. So, I decided I was going to return it since I had already ordered it. But then someone else with an MS6 who got the CorkSport posted pics and it is fine. So, I will keep the CorkSport.

I wasn’t sure I should even tell this part of the story. I might get some hate for even considering it. I know that Street Unit has a bad reputation these days. But, remember there was a post in the CorkSport section that said the 4” CS fitment on the 6 was terrible. That seems to have been an erroenous report but at the time I thought it was right. So I went looking for other options and there is the SURE Aereos 4” silicone. And truth be told, it looks nice in their pictures. So, I went ahead and ordered it. I had simultaneous orders to SURE and CorkSport, but at the time I was planning or returning the CS. So, then the post came in saying the CS fitment is totally fine. So, I was at first regretting ordering the CS but now regretted ordering the SURE. My shop Kozmic did specifically say they prefer aluminum intakes over silicone. But the order for SURE hadn’t shipped yet so I called right away first thing this morning to cancel and Cullen answered the phone. He really tried to give me the hard sell to keep the Aereos. He even said that if my tuner tunes both and doesn’t agree that the SURE is better, he would take it back. He insisted that the silicone means better heat rejection. Although my understanding is airflow is sufficiently fast that a physically hot intake pipe makes little difference. But he insisted that yeah it does make a big difference. But I stuck to my guns and said, look, I don’t want to make Kozmic tune the car twice and they specifically said the recommend aluminum so, please cancel my order and he agreed.

So, yeah, I know people will probably say I should have never considered it. Oh well. I used to buy stuff from SU in the early days before they got the bad reputation. And he even remembered me saying that I’ve been around. But, I got the order cancelled.

By the way, I finally got a response from HTP. They make a 4” but their site says out of stock. That was one I was considering, so I wrote them to ask for what kind of delivery they would have. I was told they can’t quote any delivery at this time because they can’t get supplies because of Covid. Just FYI.

Slow progress. I asked Kozmic what’s the status. They said that they had their tech booked on my car for 4 days last week, and used it all up. And they found a list of misc parts that were needed and had to order. So, they put my car back at the end of the line and it is booked for 2 days next week.
