Hey all! So I have been absent from the Mazda scene and meets but I want to make it out to more events. Specifically I want to put my car on the track a couple times this year.
Keeping it basic, what do some of y'all run or recommend for a basic setup.
Right now I've got an extra set of stock gen1 wheels that I wanna throw a decent tire on.
I'm also going to be replacing my front pads and turning the rotors before.

    Thanks in advanced.

What all do you have done to the car now? And what is your budget? Both these will help decide. But yeah, decent tire and some fresh brakes (and fluid) and you will have a blast at the track if you haven't been before.

I've been toying with the idea of making a thread to demystify general car setup things (handling balance and how to easily calculate it). You guys interested?

Do it! The amount of detail to put into any of your technical threads is amazing to read and process.

I've got JBR RSB, SRI, and his RMM to install to replace the torque solutions one I have now. Plus the EGR delete kit.
I'm looking to keep the tires around $600 for a set. I live close to a tire rack distribution center so I can pick them up.
I'm going to be ordering Hawk HP Plus front pads and stoptech steel break lines.

I wrote out a couple pages of calculations and explanations earlier so that we can all start on the same page and see where some things come from. I'll add some actual balance stuff, then I'll post a thread.

    Yes. Thanks.
Will this include MS3 and MX5 or just MS6?

It's in the works. I have a few pages of handwritten notes that I'll be making a thread from. The post is already started in a tab in my browser, just a matter of refining a bit before I actually post it.

It can be applied to most anything with an IRS.
