I've heard that EFR's are rebuildable, but not end-user serviceable.

Quick question; how do you guys compare turbos? Lbs/min? Inducer/exducer specs? Both? One or the other?

I personally look at both, compare to a precision that I know, and then Google 4 banger dynos with it.

And does anybody *really* know how to read compressor maps? :tearsofjoy:

@Enki turned me on to Matchbot: http://www.turbos.bwauto.com/aftermarket/matchbot.aspx
It takes a little while to learn how to use it, but there are YT vids on doing so and it is extremely helpful in letting you know what to anticipate with a particular BW turbo on your car.

You'll get output like this: http://www.turbos.borgwarner.com/go/0GEM4A
The key is to input all of your car's variables and fine-tune the boost curve, etc., to see roundabout what to expect. It'll help you make sure you stay on the turbo's efficiency islands too, neither surging, nor choking.
[doublepost=1482305040][/doublepost]For instance, I'm not sure if I used the right compressor Phi curve, and I spitballed boost levels you may run; I also didn't enter your exact particulars, but you'll be well on the compressor islands @ 650/490 if you ran 35psi up top: http://www.turbos.borgwarner.com/go/XJ7D79

Just have to not WOT too low to avoid surge...

You just blew my mind 3 separate times in 3 separate paragraphs. LOL. That's a nifty tool! Video watching will be a must for that however. Lotsa terms.
