So it`s literally brand new, hardly 25 miles on it, but the FX350 is so far a grabby beast. Grabbier even than the ceramic FX400 it replaced. It doesn`t chatter, but I did stall the car about twelve times before the end of my own damn street. LOL. It hits literally right off the floor adn there is no sweet spot. It`s either not going or it`s all in. I don`t mind and I`m sure I`ll acclimate, and maybe it`ll get more compliant as it breaks in. I really want to lean on it as I also have new tires (some nice big fat 265/35/18s, too) but I absolutely have to let this one break in properly.

As eventually happens with all of us, the Mazda is going away. Nope, nothing wrong, not a fit of rage or anything like that. Historically I seem to prefer the building to the actual ownership, and as far as I'm concerned the build is done (save for a few trivial details like putting in the red carpet I wanted). She's going to a well known member here (I'll let him disclose if he chooses) so I know she'll have a good home. He got a hell of a deal, I get to know the car isn't going to some choad.

Yeah yeah, ruckus from the peanut gallery. The next project is a '51 mercury chop top to build with my son.

    No, but Ken does.

In other news, the VoodooWagon has been getting her first taste of sub-zero temperatures with this garbage weather we've been facing in WI -- yes, she is still a year-round daily driver -- and hasn't really skipped a beat. When the temps see a somewhat drastic change (like 20°+ difference from one day to the next), the clutch pedal will sporadically hang on the floor instead of springing back and I have to toe lift it to resume proper functionality...I presume the system just needs another thorough power bleed to eliminate that minor issue, so nbd at all. Few changes have been made to the setup itself, and nothing major thus far to speak of -- CS throttle body is in, GFB has been swapped for a TurboSmart -- but a plan to ditch the meth system in favor of PI is in the works for this summer. She may eventually see a slightly larger turbo, but nothing drastic is coming up anywhere on the horizon. Just anxiously awaiting the return of proper driving weather so I can finally have some real fun...
