Just plug the original little box back in. You don't need a fancy relay. You won't have a cel even with the flappers removed

My understanding is that having the black box is enough

The system will operate as normal, all you have to do is detach the arm from the shaft for the flappers. (So, if you dont have any flappers, leave all the rest of the kit in place and the computer is non the wiser.)

The car has a corksport intake mani. So there arent any flappers or arm or anything.

You don't need a whole manifold you just need the black box to get rid of the CEL

Turns out the guide has the wires backward. Re-did it and no Cel with the harness I made. Problem solved, no black box needed

Hi guys I was looking at the last post by keetz and I’m thinking this might be my only option. With the green act obviously I can’t get this cel tuned out. I’m on the stock manifold without the flaps. I still have the black box, solenoid , plunger etc. all plugged in. I’m still throwing a p2006, Vtcs stuck closed. I checked the wires connections made sure the plunger pushed air in and out everything and I still have a code any help? I noticed my plunger would suck in the arm all the way when the car was on but goes back to resting when it’s off.

If you have the box you have all the parts you need. Check the wiring check that the box has a full range of motion. It could be that the box is bad too. Might need one off a junked speed

Sorry but I'm not sure how it's supposed to operate relative to the key position

Sounds good thank you! I’ll check that. I am wondering. I saw you mention that before. If I were to get rid of the actual Vtcs itself the plunger n all what would I do with that connector that goes to it wouldn’t that throw a code? Or leave that throttle body sensor in?

Okay so update. Hope I don’t jinx myself but I turned the car on checked the plunger and it was extended. So I cleared the code and drive 30 minutes and the code hasn’t come back. That being said the only thing I’ve done to the system is cut the rod and flaps out itself(I cut the shaft just to before it enters the first valve port.) So this seems to work if you dont want to cover the extra vacuum holes. I was also talking to a buddy who’s done this on other cars that in theory if you cross the two wires at the solenoid. It should clear the code but the starter relay is the better option over the two and that should work as well as a last case option

One thing I have noticed and it’s either one of two things is my LT fuel trim is around 20 compared to 10.5 before. I’m assuming with the extra air it doesn’t know how much fuel to really gives so it cuts it because when I WOT it’s .16 every time that’s what I’m assuming but I also could have put the injector seal kit (not the corksport seal) on wrong I did those at the same time If you guys have any info on that
