VVT replacement

Hey guys. I've owned my Gen 1 since 2010 and 16k miles. I now have 93k, and have yet to ever do any vvt work. It has never made any noise, so I figured it wasn't necessary.

Now that my mileage is getting higher, I'm wondering if this should be done as maintenance. Or if it's not making noise, then leave it alone?

I called the dealer to get a price, and they told me if its not making noise that it's fine. But I have OCD when it comes to maintenance, so if this is a wear item, I do want to change it out.

I would leave it, but plan for it by 120K.

 

Do you say that because you're confident it will fail? Lol.

 

Lifespan is 120K miles for it.

 

Never fix anything that's not broken yet.
