Replaced my busted rear shock. Only did one since I plan on doing a full upgrade when it gets nice out again. The Mazda platform has been the worst at eating shocks. My last 3 ate three rear shocks. Hopefully, the replacement survives the rest of Winter.

I drained my tranny fluid (very carefully and with much excitement) and refilled it with that good stuff!

Gave 'er a wash and installed a set of WellVisors in our randomly nearly-60* weather this afternoon. OCC install will be attempted tomorrow.

I will let you know once I get my car back on the road. I stripped and broke one of the bolts from the fuel pump so I am fixing that today!

Put it in a time machine. It now has 1,000 miles, is just broken-in, and is in perfect condition in every way (with all my mods intact, of course) o.0

Mish-mash OCC install success. CS kit using DM Stage 1 routing with a DM check valve added in, and easy-way-out daisy chained PCV hose.

:( well atleast CS fixed the issue of the tops of their cans popping off... Why not just get a DM can?

I have found that it is very easy to speed while driving a speed3. It also seems to makes me a more aggressive driver than I really need to. Like for example, I need to switch lanes to exit the highway. That's alright, I'll wait till I'm close to the exit because I got the power to get into a gap and switch lanes near the exit anyway. If I was driving my wife's CX-5, I would have just switched lanes early LOL.

As for what I did today, datalogs this morning and sent datalogs to Jason a few minutes ago.

CS kit was a surprise xmas gift; after discussing various routing options with smarter guys than I am, I ultimately decided I preferred the DM routing. Just needed to pick up a check-valve so the IM can't push air back into the can, and routed it using DM Stage 1 directions. Totally happy with everything else about the CS kit, just connected it up in a slightly different way.

"Easy way out" mod was because I was able to disconnect the hose from the IM side, but couldn't get it off the PCV itself...so instead I just used a fitting to connect the new hosing to the OEM hose and avoided spending excess time/effort/swearing trying to get it off of the PCV without breaking it.

Just keep an eye on it to make sure that daisy-chained hose doesn't kink/block flow. Also, you may want to look into an in-line check-valve VTA fitting like this:
    upload_2017-2-19_0-29-59.png
Back in the day, I got it from Damond for ~$10 bucks, and it gives extra venting of CC pressure with no vacuum leaks. I put mine on the line from the PCV to the OCC. But you should be able to put it on the OCC to IM line, instead. Great future-proof mod for up to 30psi too, if/when you upgrade your turbo.

Haha very true. All the speeding tickets I have gotten are when I am not purposely speeding. I thought it was a 110 kmh zone so I was driving 120 kmh. But it was a 100 zone. :/ $325.25 later. I too get very aggressive in the speed as well. Unless my wife and kid are in it. Then I drive like a grandpa.

Haven't gotten a ticket in my Speed yet, but I did just get one in my wife's Jeep.

I triple-checked the hose coming off of the PCV and it isn't kinked and doesn't seem to be too unnaturally positioned; I just angled it downward a bit from where it would have fit onto the IM port and added in the fitting, then ran the new hosing over to the can in the typical driver wheel-well location. If anything, the bends in the OEM hose are pulled a bit straight with how I have it routed now. I'm not too worried about a VTA check-valve at the moment, since I'm only targeting 21psi on my revised tune, but I may look into it when I'm finally able to swap in the CS turbo that I have waiting for install.
