None; using KWV3 coils and the ride height has to be adjusted enough so that the coil support nut clears the tire (either up or down, I went up).
It's got about a finger gap between tire and coil.

 

Guess I will join even though my current wheels blow. Lol
Bought used and are MPW 18x7.5" on 225/40/18s



First tires that were on these wheels were 225/45/18 but went down a size as the +35 offset made them rub my fender liner at full turn. Looking back it filled out everything better though amd I don't have much fender liner basically now anyway.

 

Ok thanks! I have cheap raceland coilovers at the moment and they have done decent but are soft (good for my daily I suppose) and dip a good bit on a wot shift so I worry about rubbing. Mine are all the way up and are still fairly low imo

 

As a side note, I went with such a high offset to try and keep the scrub radius as close to stock as possible.

 

Scrub radius meaning how tight it turns or what? I'm dumb I know

 

I'm planning a setup for autocross for my 2006 MS6. The car has a stock suspension except for Eibach Prokit springs. The fenders are rolled but not pulled. I have a set of old Konig 18x8+46 wheels that came with the car. I've found a set of Rota SVN 18x8.5+48. I see that a lot of people like Rota but I don't have any experience with them. Will they hold up to autocross? How heavy are they? Will an 18x8.5+48 with a 245/40R18 fit a MS6? Other suggestions are always welcome.

245/40/18 id what I was hoping to run as well but as a daily it wouldn't even be necessary. I think they do fit but you're going to need studs and wheel spacers if you run a +48 with an 8.5" wide rim. I am planning to get a +38 for with the same wheel specs since I don't want to deal with spacers.

 

According to the usual tire sizing websites - Rim&Tires, WillTheyFit, and 1010Tires - an 18x8.5+38 will clear the suspension no problem but will stick out 32-36mm further out. Isn't that going to be too far and rub the fenders. My fenders are rolled but they aren't pulled at all. I'm not ready to cut and flare them yet.
From the same sites, the 18x8.5+48 would be 8-12mm closer to the suspension and only stick out 22-26mm. I thought that would be a good compromise. Is the MS6 better off having the tires stick out further than too close to the suspension? This is my first foray into aftermarket wheels that aren't just a stock replacement size.
This is a bit mute now. As a fallback option, I was looking at the BF Goodrich R1S in a 225/40R18 to go on my existing Konig 18x8+46. I know from other members in my club, they do run a little wide but they should fit. I was able to pickup a set on closeout from TireRack for $160 per tire including heat cycling and free shipping, about half off.

 

How do the 18x8 +46 fit? Are they pretty tight towards your suspension? I know I have heard people say stock suspension is good as far as fitting more tire since your ride height is higher but I think it causes you to have to run further out or something.

If your current setup has almost 20mm or so between the tire/rim and your suspension you would be good to go to that setup. That would leave you 8mm give or take between your rim/tire and your strut which I would think is close but ok. Fitting a finger between would be an ideal "safe" distance but close distance imo.

 

Stock GenPu wheels powder coated in Prismatic Powder's Ultra Black Chrome. Was on the fence about painting my old curb rashed wheels or getting a new set, and because IMO, these wheels still look fire after all of these years, I kept them. You could release a model year 2021 car with these wheels and they'd still look good.

Was it hard to install or fit pretty well?

 

Pretty straight forward with self tapping screws with washers and zip ties in areas i felt needed it. So far its solid up to highway speeds so im satisfied but not sure after 100mph
