Which 3.5" intake to get.

I'm in the market for a 3.5 inch intake set up. I'm upgrading from a Cobb TIP/SRI to a 3.5 inch for a BNR S4 build. I've been looking at the HTP, Corksport, and JBR 3.5 inch intake systems. I'm looking for an all aluminum intake. I'm looking for opinions on which ones people like, any issues they've had with either of them, and just general feedback.
I'm leaning towards the HTP intake system.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Don't forget the small battery and tray.

 

HTP 3.5" here with no small battery tray. I run a full-sized battery still, too. I did a ECU relocate with a Trackmasters bracket, however.

I love HTP, but you're not going to have a performance difference between any of your options, so that's a moot point. The key is fitment. IIRC, the JBR gives a little more clearance by the battery box. Not sure about the CS.

What threads have you looked at to research these issues so far?

 

I have a 4" waiting to install. Why stop at 3.5"?

Because 3.5" can easily handle 600whp. 4" is for the 800whp guys, and squeezing it in there requires a lot more work.

(Unfortunately, we don't have intonation or vocal inflection with posts; it really is too bad. It would help me out a lot! )

 

Its an aluminum tube, so whatever one costs the least amount of money. Probably JBR in this case. HTP is cool. Corksport's intake is overpriced for what you get (and thats before shipping). JBR 3.5 has been working great for me.

 

HTP or JBR, are both excellent choices

 

Even though I have the HTP, I gotta be honest and say that the JBR supposedly has less clearance issues around the battery, etc. I've not run both, so this is just based on lots of thread reading.

 

Fuck JBR, avoid the aids and go HTP.

I've always liked the HTP intakes over the others. Don't really have any good reason why though.

Also, no small battery box necessary with a little ingenuity. Either relocate the ECU to the fuse box like some do, or keep the stock box and move the ECU inside of it next to a 51R. This picture is a HTP 3", but a 3.5" also fits pretty much the same (a local has done the same box modifications but with the 3.5" with no issues).

 

It's an inanimate object you can't get aids from it...Also JBR is an excellent company, atleast he takes care of us and stands by warranties if needed.

 

I have a Ramfab 3.5, I love mine and powder coating is included in the price. Rambo does a great job and will make it whatever color you want. He charges 285 for recirc delete and 295 without, plus 24 shipping. Also the MAF is on the bottom making the bay look cleaner.

HTP 3.5 here. They offer BPV returnless too. Completely satisfied. I went honeycomb-less and have perfect idle at 900rpms.

Personally, I wouldn't want the MAF on the bottom because I wouldn't want to drop any hardware with the intake in place, or ininstalling/reinstalling the whole intake to ensure this doesn't happen. That would take a great deal more time than the 1 minute it takes me to remove or replace my MAF.
