Single mass flywheel

Did you reuse or replace flywheel bolts?

Always a good idea, could never hurt. Is that what you did? I found several citations of speed owners reusing their bolts with new threadlocker with no negative repercussions. Just curious what others actually do. This thread has a voting feature to tally what everyone has done. please feel free to cast your vote. I can anonymize it if people would feel judged for reusing bolts.
 
The Fidanza flywheel is also single mass. The Fidanza will be very similar in price to that random one that you linked, so I probably wouldn't go that route if I were you.

I swapped the flywheel bolts out when I installed my new flywheel/clutch and from what I've read I would not ever re-use those bolts. If that ever comes undone you're gonna have a bad time.
 
You can reuse them but if there's a problem do you really want to have to try and get it them again because you reuse old bolts? It just in my mind is a always use new because it's not worth the small cost you have to try and fix it later

Thank you for the responses. agreed that a person SHOULD replace flywheel bolts. This was more for data collection rather than advice. I can see now that my flywheel bolt polling exercise is doomed to failure. I suck at communicating, or it was a bad idea, or both...

As for the flywheel in question. It is 18 lbs 1 piece steel construction vs the lighter fidanza 2 piece aluminum with screws. It's possible that this ebay flywheel sucks, but also likely that it doesn't. It's harder to screw up a steel disk than the actual clutch. Last I checked 11 people were "watching" it. I am curious if anyone on here is using one currently.

Luk + Fidanza definitely causes chatter, but the rev benefits are nice. The two piece construction is also a good thing the next time you replace the clutch, since you can just get a new disk for it rather than buying a whole new flywheel. I'm not really sure if there's any downside to the two piece construction to be honest. I don't see why you'd add weight just to reduce chatter, but that's just me. Dale is a smart dude, so I'm sure he has his reasons. Probably pretty hard to fuck up a flywheel, but if I was going to buy one I'd be looking to get every perk out of it that I could. Chatter doesn't bother me.
 
Keep in mind that we actually have an option to use ARP flywheel bolts over the OEM ones for basically the same price as well.

Edit: Looks like someone just had an issue recently with socket fitment for the bolt heads so that could be a problem.

What I've read is that these don't fit well with the fidanza flywheel. Maybe they work with others though.

I had no issues useing them. The only reason i used them because they have a few more threads and my south bend flywheel was thicker then oem. They use a 3/4" 12pt socket.

I use them as well but I had my clutch installed when my engine was being built since the trans was already out anyway. So I have no idea if there were any complications with mine or not.

That is correct, because they have preinstalled (obviously single use) threadlocker that is essential to keeping them from vibrating loose. But they are not TTY...the FSM has you tighten them to 113-118 ft-lbs in one step. If you use new loctite, they work fine. The kind of threadlocker Mazda uses is yellow (medium strength) I believe.

Yup, I've reused them a number of times. Just clean and fresh red loctite
 
I had the fidanza and luk combo and there was a some good chatter. However I upgraded to the ACT 6 puk and flywheel and there is almost no chatter. So the Fidanza and luk and sitting in the garage.

Prolight or streetlight flywheel? did you replace or reuse flywheel bolts?
