sooo...since my wife bought a 2022 cx5 turbo with a 2.5 do i get to post without feeling like an outsider?

FNG question: does all the knowledge about the mazdaspeed 3/6 engines carry over to the 2.5 turbo engines?

this car seems to consume a little bit of oil and it's a known issue with mazda. specs call for 5w30. i'm going to go 5w40 instead. but that led me to the memory of folks using rotella or other diesel oils. valvoline is my go-to, but full synthetic is available in 5w40 but only under european specs.

Sold em for 6 years. Great car. 2021 had valve seat issues on turbo models but not all. And should have been fixed for 2022.

There is no Ford shit in the new Mazda so you are safe there. Lmk if you have any questions

The cx5 group is such an odd one. There aren't really any forums dedicated to them that are useful, not that I've had a ton of questions. Facebook is where I find any info, like where to tap a power source to hardwire a dash camera. Turns out there's a plug you can buy on Amazon that'll go on the back of the rear view mirror and it'll give you a USB source right there. Way better than running an add a circuit to the fuse box

Which CX-5 forum do you go to? You might have better luck with Mazdas247 for info on CX-5s.

Also I too wired our dashcam into the rearview mirror on our CX-5, though ours is a 2016. The connection's been unreliable lately, like it's loosened up or something, and the dashcam turns on and off every once in awhile. Do you mind sharing the link to that plug you got from Amazon?

I did not know such a group exists with that many members on FB.

Also, thanks for the info on Dongar Adapters. Their product is much better than the one I currently have, which is something that has pins on it, that you have to plug into the back of the rearview mirror.

When I joined 247, it was still msprotege and protege5. He later made them all in 1. The pooched the forum by merging everything. It is gross now.

That CX-5 group is decent. Only 4K people when I joined and then they added me to moderate. We try to kill the repeated BS stuff. It is not sorted out like a forum so people ask the same thing because too lazy to search.

When I was active on M247, there were users in there who just killed the mood. People asked about mods and they will shut it down saying mods are pointless. They were intent on pushing their view on you (ie. you're stupid for wanting to mod, etc..). I felt like I was spending too much mental energy just trying to ignore those users. There were some good info in there, there's still some, but you have to wade through some annoying users and their posts to find it. So I took a break. That was years ago. I only go back to check on a couple of things and leave it right away before I get super annoyed.

I laugh at the boomers in the club who want the oily K&N panel filter vs SRI with dryflow citing more power ot no intake at all because noise only no power, when it is proven to gain.
