Time to get rid of the ugly aluminum/foam POS of a heat shield at the back of your speed 3 engine bay.

High temp ceramic coated and made from aluminum which will hold up a million times better than the OEM part.

    Link to the fancy part

Mine is tore to hell. I tried to repair it with double sided thermal tape but it didn't last very long.

I will definitely be ordering one. Also since you have a good feel for the community, you should seriously consider releasing a gen 1 coolant reservoir. Guys in the AZ heat are dealing with them cracking and living with patch jobs.

Any idea if this will fit behind a larger turbo such as a 35r?

This is patterned after the OEM since we used all of the OEM locations for mounting and the bottom tab so the fitment and clearance is super super super super super super close to the OEM heat shield. The only spot we deviated from was where the OEM wastegate actuator goes, we added more clearance there.

Well I hate how that factory heat shield looks so I'll give it a try and see if it fits!

Let us know, I have a similarly sized turbo and am hopeful I could put it in without removing...everything in the way.

For curiosity's sake, do you have a picture of it without the manifold heat shield on as well?

I don't, I have asked to get one. It looks like the heat shield will hit it but it doesn't.

I would like to assume that clearance with any of the aftermarket exhaust manifolds would be fine as well?

If not you can hit it with a hammer....

    j/k

The shield is thinner than the OEM piece since it is a single layer of aluminum.

Warning on this picture with the CPE manifold. The OEM brackets at the top were very bent and the tab for the bottom of the heat shield was smashed flat against the firewall. There is more clearance than what is shown.

Here's a pic on my car with the CP-E EM without the messed up brackets. I really like it, it looks very clean back there. There's also plenty of room to add any extra heat reflective material to the heat shield if you chose to do so.

Looks like you had plenty of space to route the WG hose behind it as well.

That's a good fit! I'm waiting until I install my motor to order one since my Fj Performance exhaust manifold is pretty huge. I think if it fits with that, it's pretty universal.

Sure did, I had zero issues with that. I made sure to leave a little bit of slack in the hose so it's not rubbing on the edge with a lot of tension.
