Hey all, I'm new here but not new to Mazda forums :).

I've been car-free for a few years, but today I picked up my first ever new car. All my life I've only owned Mazdas, so I feel like I have sinned. I bought a Fiesta ST :)

Here are a couple photos but they're terrible. I basically just bought it, drove it home, found some parking garage to ditch it in and haven't seen the thing since haha. It looks like a bone stock 2016 Fiesta ST in Orange. I'll post up some pics of my older cars which are a lot more interesting

I've like barely driven it --just the test drive where I was pretty gentle since I had no insurance (haven't owned a car in years, I had been living in Manhattan) and the drive home in traffic to ditch it in some random parking garage. Seems like a really fun little car, and I'll always have a soft spot for hot hatches :)

Hi Raider. It has been a while. I haven't found a ST or Fiesta ST forum I've even felt like registering for yet so I figured I'd see what the Mazda folks are up to.

Yeah, TMF is a spam wasteland. I bough ecoboosts.org and have. Section since I opened MSO in February. There are a couple popular ones, but I wanted to give em an option for a fresh start!

Meanwhile, I'm closing in on 10 years with the Speed3!

I actually went looking for a fiesta/focus ST when I found my speed3. I love everything about those little cars and especially that orange. Enjoy it sir.

Those are a lot of fun. One of my friends just bought one recently, same year, color. Best thing coming from the old MZR is a transmission that doesn't shift like ass. Only reason I wouldn't buy one is the high rollover risk.

If I couldn't get the deal I wanted on the Speed3, I was going across the street to drive a new FiST.

took off the *riveted on* front plate bracket, have some painted plugs on the way to fill the holes. Here she was after being picked up from the dealership where it was being scotchguarded and paint sealed and all that jazz --front end looks so much cleaner

it's really a blast. the power to weight ratio is delightful (and at least the torque is pretty underrated from the factory). I haven't had a chance to take it out of the city but can't wait. I've literally just driven it home from the dealership, back to the dealership, and back home so far this week

power-wise it reminds me of my turbocharged Protege5, which was 2700lbs and 200whp so a very similar power to weight ratio. It's unfortunate that the Fiesta is a decent bit smaller than a Protege5 but the same weight lol. Oh modern cars.

Most of the Speed3 is FOMOCO anyways, so not a complete sin. :D The Fiesta has intrigued me since I first saw it but I personally would probably sway FoST over FiST because the FiST reminds me too much of a Mazda 2, which I can't stand. Haha. Good pickup none the less! I look forward to hearing more feedback once you get it out of the city.

O I forgot, I just got rid of my Fiesta, not an ST but it was and SFE, an ecoboost 1.0 liter 3 cylinder turbo. Sorry I just love those little cars.

I think it's a mostly similar platform, kinda like the Focus / Mazda3 / Volvo C30 back in the day. I love the Mazda2, if they sold the new generation of it stateside I would have bought that instead and turbocharged it myself :)

photo from the other day: [IMG]

I really desperately need window tint but at least from this angle it doesn't look too bad heh. Hit 200 miles on the odometer after just a few weeks, crazy haha

Haha 200 miles in a few weeks LOL. That's about 5 days of commuting for me so I'd be done in less than a week.

I like that FiST too. The price is right, good mod stuff available too. Power addition has got to quickly have an impact on a light vehicle. Though for me Detroit is completely choked with giant SUVs and full size pickups so personal risk increases greatly in the smallest vehicles.

I hit 400 miles as of yesterday, with most of that being miles I put on to get learning time in on a fresh tune. All I've done performance-wise so far is a cobb accessport and a semi-custom tune from stratified, and the cobb virtual dyno (estimated crank torque) has gone up over 50 lb ft. I'm pushing a bit over 25psi during pulls, and this is a torquey little 1.6. I have a 3" catback on the way from CP-E and that's all I need for engine performance mods ever.

Got new wheels and tires yesterday, took some pics today. Car is dirty but the wheels are freshly cleaned and waxed.
