It's hard to get a good pic because it absorbs all the light. It pretty much looks and feels like black velvet, just a bit rougher.
so I may have missed this but from page 4 when you dropped the pan and page 5 when you put it back in, did you add a baffle or anything?
Not sure if I ever did post up. I put in a Tomei crank scraper/baffle and Kiggly HLA oil regulator. Right now I'm in the middle of making a new pan. Got a chopped up stock one that I'm making a new sump for. The plan is to move to a dry sump sometime in the next year. Just trying to get through this season first.
Found a bit of free time and decided to make a model of the cage. Hopefully getting more wiring out of the way tonight and tomorrow.
You are putting more in weight? That seems counterproductive to me. But if it saves your life, I’d say it is not such a bad thing. What type of material are you thinking about using? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
This is the cage that's already in the car. I am planning to add more bars though next year. Eventually I want to start doing hillclimbs and that means I'll need to have the cage reworked to be more like a rally cage than the circuit style cage it has now. The current cage is made of DOM. I don't trust chromoly cages, people never anneal them properly after welding. I'll take the weight penalty for a cage that won't shatter.
I finally finished my super obnoxious valve cover today. Couldn't pick a color so I chose all of them. Hoping to get some other small stuff done as well this week. Namely getting most of the looming done on the engine harness, start looming the inside of the car and get some more small pieces cut out on the mill. Dallas also cut out these offset LCA bushings I drew up and they turned out awesome! Can't wait to throw them in with the Hardrace sphericals!
Cut out this little piece to fill the hole in my steering wheel since I don't have a horn. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. It's the first time I've made something with a curved profile so I'm happy it worked well. Think I might go back and polish it a bit, I still need to work on my surface finishes with the mill.
