swapping ecus?

    Im looking to buy this accessport and the guy says that its married to his old ecu from his speed3 that hes parting out, would I be able to swap out my ecu for his that the accessport is married to? we both have 08s

    You would need the body control module and the instrument cluster as well.

    Then you have to hope that swapping all of those parts doesn't trigger the anti-theft and require a trip to the dealer to reset

    If you can get the hands on the ecu surprised he didn't just unmarry it? Would be easiest to just pay the fee to Cobb go unlock the accessport (pay the seller accordingly for the locked device)

    Can you temporarily swap the ECU, unmarry the accessport, then swap your ECU back in? You wouldn't need to start the car to unmarry it.

    he can also temporarily hook up a battery to the car hes parting out and unmarry it. I unmarried my AP from my old ms6 to marry it to my new one while the old one had no engine in it. Just needs the main harness plugged into the main fuse box and a battery with a good charge
