I don't see an interior subforum, so I guess this goes here. I got some Braum racing seats. I haven't got very far in the install. I got the passenger seat removed. I got the Planted platform for the seats installed. Well, mostly, 3 out of 4 main mounting bolts are in. The forth doesn't line up perfectly, I will need to pound the bracket with a hammer to get it right. Oh well...

I didn't think about the fact that the passenger seat has weight sensor for the passenger airbag and seat belt warning. My guess is, you probably can't transfer that to the racing seats, but, I figured I would ask just in case.

The alternative might be to dummy it out, make the car think it has the sensor. Maybe even install a manual enable/disable switch that would tell the ECU that yes, there is weight or no there is not weight thus enable/disable the airbag.

    Any ideas?

Thanks for responding. After my OP, I did a bit of reading. For some more known cars like BMWs, there is online instructions on what resisters to use, or simple plug-in defeater kits you can buy. But, with our niche market, not so much.

You could transfer the airbag occupant sensor if it is a removable pad from the foam. But you would need to remove the upholstery from the new seat and install it underneath it. It's like a whoopie cushion with a map sensor attached to it. When someone sits it reads the pressure change to determine what stage to arm for the airbag. Stage 1 being the lightest and stage 2 being full bag explosion

I will finish decombobulating the stock seat and see what seems possible. Thanks.
