Check out magnaflow. I have one on my Miata. Good tone, not too loud, 3" in and outlet

I had a big oval magnaflow on the Mazda and it was awesome.

Definitely need something similar on here but maybe not as massive. Straight through ideally

I called vibrant to ask about mufflers.
It appears Vibrant has a page in their catalog that lists every muffler/resonator WITH a "noise suppression" rating, also listing the volume of packing within the muffler.

Seems like the best muffler for me in both noise suppression area and style points would be the Vibrant stealth muffler. I ran one way back in the day on my turbo neon and really loved it.

It has a good rating for noise and it looks/sounds great. Pricing is also reasonable. Just gotta get it here now!

Did some more logging tonight. All I can say is wow.

the more I drive the car the more I’m noticing these little things.

Lightweight rotating assembly. What a freaking difference. Maybe having it balanced contributes some but the feel…the downshifts/upshifts. The smoothness of it all. It’s truly incredible. I don’t recall myself being such a smooth criminal with every single downshift heel toe or regular. Sometimes I wouldn’t get it 100% and you could feel that.

Well I guess light weight rotating assembly helps here some? If you mismatch it doesn’t matter as much? I’m just trying to understand cause I’m telling ya it feels incredible. If you do miss a little you can’t tell. You can’t feel it. It’s like buttery smooth in every way. Such light throttle blipping effort required too. It’s something new feeling to me. Even from last season this ain’t even close.

So far still working through low speed cam tuning. No vtec yet.

I can feel torque piling on from 3000rpm and it just keeps adding torque as rpm increases. I can feel absolutely 0 roll over. Limiter is set very low currently around 6500 and it only pulls harder and harder to 6500. A very cool feeling for me. It’s really something

The smile on my drive home was ear to ear. The few slow corners I did pull out of really did make for an experience. No. It’s not 1000000hp but that was never the scope. In terms of usable torque band, this is on another level from what I had.

    My excitement is massive

Tonight’s map had the most vtc in it. Car was on a mission. It needs more rpm badly. This 6500rpm limiter is such a buzz kill lol.

Solid torque is from about 4500rpm directly to limiter. Can still feel torque build all the way up. Can’t wait to get into vtec.

Oh shit! I’m in Guelph. Not sure where you’ll be but sounds like not far.

Ha yea I gotta get some good sound clips. Really just waiting for that 9500rpm map.

Currently have 10 different vtc maps to log so that’s gonna take some effort. Trying to dial in vtc and it’s proving to be a bit of a challenge

Driving your car that way is like how the new Z06's are. Their ECU won't allow you to go to the rev limiter untill a certain mileage. In your case it's more personal restraint.

High effort today. 10 maps. 10 logs. Same direction. Same road. Lots of uturns. It also takes a solid 5-6 minutes to flash a map so it’s a lot of sitting on the side of the road.

1500rpm-6500 in 3rd. Log takes like 5 seconds or less. Then pull over. Uturn. Back to the starting line. Flash new map repeat. Lol

I can’t wait to get into the high rpm’s. 6500 limiter is a total buzz kill.

I will say, I can’t honestly see anyone putting in this kinda effort to get their car tuned. Around here people just don’t know / don’t care. I can speak to the end results from last year and the effort is definitely well worth it

He is unbelievably thorough. I will say the final product speaks to his attention to detail though. Things that people commonly cry about on this platform he was able to fix through just better tuning.

It’s easy to not give a shit. Most tuners don’t give a shit. Most people also don’t give a shit

I honestly haven’t kept up at all with the speed tuners. I know freak and PD. I guess there’s a new guy drama something or other. I’m sure he’s just fine considering 98% of Mazdaspeed builds are exactly the same

    This gotta be a joke:tearsofjoy:
I’ve seen his name around the fb groups but I’ve also written those groups off years ago. Even the guys who “know” don’t really know shit. Same thing goes with the Honda groups. The forums are where it’s at

No, he's also said it's perfectly normal for a base map to be faster than a final map.
He's also managed to achieve tuning a fully bolted, fully tuned Genpu into something slower than a bone stock car. And some poor shit paid money for this feat.

This is sad. How can anyone support this shit? Is the platform this done for?

I mean we here all know this is BS but I guess regular folk don’t know? come on base map faster than the final map? I’d love to hear the logic behind that statement. Or maybe I really wouldn’t…
