Next weekends lookin good. I’m missing some dumb stuff though LOL

like where in the hell did I put the coil pack bolts? Certainly not with the coil packs or with the valve cover. That would be tooooo easy

Spent a little time today dressing the engine. Installing what I can. It’s just easier this way

    3E86215E-5DAB-4F54-B7B4-CDAF97327CD0.jpeg

OEM steel fittings for my oil cooler. Was just gonna send them as is but a buddy sent me something from Reddit showing great results after soaking in vinegar. Got some “double strength cleaning” vinegar to try. For $6 it’s worth a shot

Plan is still to install next weekend followed but a quick start up and systems check

Self explanatory. Took advantage of the 45 degree weather today

Header bolted up nicely which is great. Motor mounts are in. Intermediate shaft along with its heat shield is in. Just gotta wire it up and plumb it and that’s about it now

Did some digging into my cars classification for time attack this season. Same class I was in last season just a few more penalty points. Means I need to run a quicker lap to collect points.

Funny, my buddies bnr s4 Mazdaspeed 6 is in the same class as my car LOL. Really love this series and how the classing works:tearsofjoy::tearsofjoy: very excited for some good times though it’ll be a blast

It’s got a pretty poor power to weight which is what puts it in my class. If he did the straight “mods” option he’d be like unlimited. Car still needs to be Dyno’d for legitimacy but vdyno shows him at 340whp so based on that he’s in my class

    Car currently looks like this,
    IMG_4734.jpeg

I am a radiator away from first start. I got into a fight with mine and I won…
    IMG_4768.jpeg

A buddy of mine picked it out of my recycling bin. He thinks he can fix it so I’ll give it a go. He will do a pressure test after aswell. If it holds I’ll run it. If not it’s time for a koyo rad.

    So close…yet so far….lol

    That's easily fixable

Has the weather broken there yet?

hopefully buddies repair turns out well. He used the clay version of JB weld to fill it. Hopefully it holds...

Weather has been crazy. Last week we were well above 0, like 45 +
this week we're sitting at and below 0 with snow

Plan is to get first start going here soon. Bleed coolant/ a little idle tuning. Then the car will be towed to the dyno for break in. Depending on the weather i may be able to drive it home. Im hoping we're on the dyno by early April or so

Radiator has been repaired. My buddy gave it 22psi by accident but it held just fine. Only leakage was around the plugs. No big deal. JB weld fix seems to be holding well
    IMG_9334.jpeg

Going to get the rad back this weekend and finish putting the car together. Fill it with fluids and at minimum do a prime test. See how that goes.

It’s gotten cold again but I’m trying to get first start going soon. Track events start May. I have 5 competition events on the schedule so need to get the car tuned and sorted out and at least 2 test/shakedown days

Radiator repair, my buddy used JB weld putty. He gave me a piece and told me to do another layer. Currently this doesn’t leak as is.

should I use the putty or finish it off with tradition jbweld?

Did you scuff the surface with sandpaper before applying it?

Sanded it down real good yes. Made sure to do so.

It held 25 psi for a bit. 15psi was no problem. Only leakage was out of my plugs/shrader valve

Pressure is one thing. Heat with pressure is another thing entirely. Having this welded would have been better.

Keep an eye on it, and get it nice and hot before you track it.

If it lasts the season I’ll be happy. If not, it was destined for the trash anyways.

Will definitely keep an eye on it but you do often hear of so many JBweld success stories
