Yeah, we'll see. Holding 25-26psi like a champ. And it's rated to hold at least 40, or was it 60psi?

Besides, we all know you have very bad luck, man ;)

The Synapse mounting system is shit. The tolerancing hasn't been done properly and the design is way too sensitive to it anyway. It's also not very strong... removing a silicone bypass hose from it I tore it right off the flange just with my own arm/hand power. But their customer service was great and they replaced it. Now that it's on, holy shit it works awesome.

In the midst of this, Synapse told me they're redesigning their mounting system due to failures like mine. They said they haven't seen that many but enough for them to redesign it. Honestly I've no idea why they don't go to a V-band kind of a system. It would be sooo much more tolerant of manufacturing variation and I think it would stronger too. Their current thing depends on three little bands of aluminum around the rim, which is pretty easily seen as a weak point even by the non-engineer.

With that said I've no idea why the Synapse DV would even have been brought as OP requested a BOV which the DV is not.

    Weeeeeeeeeeeeeee........ Psssssssssssshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

I guess I've just been lucky. Like I said, no issues since day 1. I mentioned BPV because we all know BOVs are crap for our cars unless we have some kind of external BOV control to close it, like with a Guardian Angel.

It's funny that you mention engineers. The way I originally found out about the Synapse was from Lex at Stratified. Since he is an engineer, and an exceptionally smart/well-experienced one with our platform, I took his recommendation in trying out the Synapse. I'm glad I did. He said he loves it for Speeds, and I'm inclined to agree.

Having said that, sorry for the other folks it didn't work out well for.

Mine broke in the same spot twice. Once like how it happened to you and the 2nd time while stomping on a CTS V. That sucked because I had to limp home 30 miles. I borrowed Jason's HKS and love it and bought a new one for my self. And no Zack I dont have bad luck just shitty mechanic... :(

HKS sucks on these cars. Ran one for about a week in both recirc and vta mode, shifting is garbage, pig rich most of the time.

CS BPV has been awesome to me. Spring broke inside once actually, CS replaced it no problem for me. Other than that, not one problem.

Even using a GA to use a BOV it still sucks. I ran my CS BPV in VTA for about 3 months and finally got tired of it. Runs rich when you shift and no matter how many adjustments you make to the pressure release speed you never can get it just right.

Synchronic Synapse BOV. I've seen them on everything from twin turbo big block drag cars to my simple BNRs3 and I've not heard of any issues. Plus it's simple maintenance. Haven't touched mine since installing it 27k ago. Ftw.

    tapatalk, it sucks

The GFB Repons Hybrid is awesome as well.

My shifts aren't rich as other BOVs

Well yeah, he said that in threads at MSF, and is why I opted for it as well. It works great for me, though because it allows the turbo to spin so much more freely (at least in my setup, push A+B) I think it's reduced my fuel economy. That's admittedly partly because the boost comes in so freely that it tempts my right foot more.

But while we're giving pros and cons, @HawkeyeGeoff had the top of his DV grenade off and dent his hood from underneath. He did switch to the older/bigger Synapse BOV/BPV and it worked fine. If my DV problem hadn't been resolved so quickly I'd have considered it as an option.

I run A+B too, and like I said, never an issue at all. It's so much more responsive/better driving than my old Turbosmart. Honestly, I think running with the EGR disabled lowered my MPGs more than anything. I have a BNR S3 too, so it's not super-inclined to get into boost in part-throttle around-town driving, anyways...

I changed from T6 10w40 to Pennzoil Platinum 5w30 and went from 20.9 to 22.8 fit mileage per gallon. I've had my egr deleted since 3k so I've no idea on mileage previous. I'm in a+b mode as well on my Synchronic and I've always had great response.

    tapatalk, it sucks

Well yeah, on most city streets it's way over the top. But on the freeway the turbo spins a bit during cruise even while still in vacuum. And every day I drive one surface street with 45/50 speed limits all along it and can't resist the occasional boosted pull from the lights, even moreso now that it comes on so smooooth.

Synapse Synchronic and HKS are the best by a pretty wide margin from my many years of swapping between almost all the brands.
