I recently bought a Speed3, it consumes some oil. Probably will take it for a compression test soon. It started hesitating so I bought stock plugs, installed without checking gap and had mid-throttle hesitation that would go away when warm. Noticed bright yellow COP's and a Go Fast blow off. Maybe I need (cooler) plugs? It appears to be tuned but I can't tell to what degree. Not sure how to know if HPFP has been addressed. I'm in Raleigh NC, any recommended tuners out this way?

Mid-throttle hesitation has turned into EGR and misfire code... lots of stumbling running very rough now Denso Irridium plugs used

    Thanks for any suggestions..

Did you get compression test yet?
    Oil Consumption:
How much is some? Some is ok if small amount, if pint or quart then that is acceptable to some, and a lot to others.
Piston Rings, hopefully not! Hope Compression test is good.
    Mazda Manual states,
    standard 185.65 psi
    minimum 129.96 psi
Max Diff. 28.5 psi between piston 1,2,3,4
    May be turbo seals shot
    Hesitating:
Check for boost or vac leak. May be over boosting.
    Stock plugs gap 0.028 - 0.031 in
"Mid-throttle hesitation that would go away when warm"
May be your plug gap is close to where it should be but too many variables to tell. Could also be related to [boost or vac leak. May be over boosting.]
What was in there before you put new OEM plugs in. Were they the same as the now new ones?
You don"t need cooler plugs unless you are moderately to heavily modded.
If your car came with an AP or some type of device you can see the OTS or MAP on the AP. You can see more info on the computer but not much more, which is why this forces you to get another tune when you buy or sell the car with the AP and its ots or map from other tuners. license protection for them and makes you spend your money on them if you are trouble shooting or need a touch up which will turn out to be another tune from scratch since you can not really find the original tuner unless you find the owner before you to tell you their name or business.
"Not sure how to know if HPFP has been addressed."
Only way is to take the HPFP off and to see the internals. AP will not give indicator on aftermarket or not.
Y.T. video will show the differences and G question about it will show pics on the most popular ones by showing the tip of the shaft on the spring. So just take the hpfp off and look at the differences when you look at G pics.
Sorry Don't know the tuners in your area but I am sure someone on here can point you in the right direction.
    "EGR and misfire code"
List the code and or number!
    EGR restricted/insufficient, malfunctioning ?
Misfire random or #3 cyl. ? etc.

The more detailed information you can provide them the more help will be provided.
    Year, Firse or Second Jen?
    Mod List of car.
OTS or MAP Name on AP
    How much is oil consumption?
    identify HPFP internals
Make list of problems then list of things done to address it .

    Example:
    1. consumes some oil Conpresion test, Turbo check
    2. hesitating, mid throttle New OEM plugs, Boost or vac leak test, Over boosting testing
    3. Identify tune Who or get a new tuner
    4. Identify HPFP internals Auto Tech, Cobb, Cs
    5. EGR Code Test and or clean or delete EGR
    6. Misfire Code Test Coils, Injectors, Plugs

@Marcos Del Rio, yellow coil packs are aftermarket and I would not trust em. Usually pretty terrible. Find a set of oem ones.

When you get the compression tested check the plug gap while they are out. The stock NGK plugs aren't gapped anywhere close to correct for the car, I don't know about the Densos.

Agreed! Also OP here is a link to some cheap OEM coils https://www.tascaparts.com/oem-parts/mazda-ignition-coil-lf2l18100a

Edit: both Denso and NGK plugs do not come gapped properly (I've run both... prefer NGK and I can tell you Justin @ freektune recommends the NGK > Denso). Plugs should be gapped at .026-.028"
