Something that I don’t think had been happening til recently. When driving around town or city driving my coolant temp is around 180-185. Higher when at a stoplight of course. But now when on the interstate my temp is down to 170’ish after a minute or so. That seems odd to me. Anyone else?

Have you gotten any DTCs like p0128 for thermostat performance? The thermostat could be partially stuck open. What's the outside temp usually been in your area? I live in the south and it has been between 85-100 depending on the day/cloud cover. My temps are usually between 180-190, sometimes around 195-210 if I'm in stop and go traffic

Although I have not looked at temps for this platform closely, what you describes sounds about right.

Your cooling system radiator is mostly cooled by ram air, the faster air goes through it, the better it exchanges the heat from your coolant to the air.

The source of heat is fuel. If you are cruising on the highway within the speed limit, you are at near the peak efficiency of the engine. Meaning minimal fuel consumption. Good fuel efficiency means less heat generated.

    Hope that helps.

Seems about right see post above. I'll hit low-mid 170s after cruising for at about 80km/h especially on a cooler day. If I start giving her gas especially to over take temp will come right back up to the 180ish mark right quick. Don't forget sitting at lights etc will increase heat soak and warm up more of the total fluid levels so it'll take longer to shake off that heat.

No trouble codes. Maybe I just didn’t pay as close of attention in the past. Seems I’m just paranoid in my old age. Thanks all
