    Check it out Guys,

We have been hard at work developing a larger throttle body for the DISI MZR platform. You may say "oh that's been done before and it's a total PITA to drive"... NOT THIS ONE. More info to come

Interesting. Don't most people do the coolant bypass? Will this be released before or after the elusive Intake manifold? Two weeks perhaps?

CorkSport is located near Canadialand. I'm sure they don't do the coolant bypass mod up there. Maybe CS will make the nipples detachable.

Even if I end up not having a need to buy this, I'm still so glad to see a company working hard to continue development of new parts for our platform. I might hug Barett if ever given the opportunity.

A "no coolant line" option would be sweet.

Most people do (I did), but the change in BATs is negligible. Want cool BATs? Get a FMIC. Want icy BATs? Do FMIC + methanol. Now that I'm spraying methanol, I may just reverse the bypass.

In response to the OP Quiz, I didn't see the option I wanted: I want the IM and upgraded DI injectors right meow; the TB would be nice, but can take "2 weeks." (Right now rarely, if ever, happens o.0)

I spy two integrated methanol bungholes too...

Where's the skeleton sitting on a bench meme when you need it? LOL
Hopefully this will be a quick process, but history has taught me not to hold my breath.

Will the new TB come with a new actuator?

I will assume we are waiting the customary "two weeks".

Supposedly the low and mid range gains from larger throttle body setups on this engine are pretty substantial. I'll be keeping my eye out for this, hope you guys can get it released in a timely manor. If good drivability is retained this would be a no brainer for anyone on a large turbo setup.

Not an issue for my S3 setup (more wtq than I know what to do with there, even neutered), but like you said, it could definitely be a boon for the much bigger turbo folks.

I would be curious to see the data on this, as well as any comparisons done vs the stock throttle body. Obviously we have cars making big power with the stock TB, and past attempts at larger TB's had their own issues. Would love to see data on the solution here.

Cautiously optimistic about this. I'm interested to see the range where the gains are made.

Here is a log I did before and after the coolant bypass. When you live in hell on earth (aka Arizona) every degree helps lol. [IMG]

Good info, but for a solid comparison, you'd need two identical drives in every way (including ambient factors) with before/after the bypass charts overlaid.
At best, it may save a couple degrees. But the air is only travelling through the TB for a few inches, and often at a very rapid speed - not much time for it to be heated up by the TB. IMHO, a TB TIG helps more than the bypass itself because it insulates the heat from the coolant going through the TB soaking into the IM. The charge air is in the IM for much longer. But like I said, with methanol, it's a non-issue, LOL. Especially spraying 800cc of 100% M1, haha.

I live in Montana and see negative temps often (as low as -26 this winter) never had a problem with the TB freezing. It would probably be cheaper to manufacture a TB that isn't liquid cooled, and therefore less expensive for us to buy.
