    I feel like 4 "mods" still counts as stock :p they're just to make more whooshy noises when I accelerate, nothing more.

    Anyway. Drove the car to work today and wowza is it different! I'm sure a lot has to do with differing throttle scaling between Dizzy and PD but she feels like a whole different animal now. I always felt before in 1st Ryan had it super neutered. I'd floor it in first and only hit like 5psi no matter how hard I tried. Now I get a nice ramping up boost and plenty of wheelspin when I want it. All other gears light up quick and have great throttle response. The tip in and accel is much smoother as well which is probably a combo of the intake tube along with the tune. It would've been fun to add one mod at a time and see how each one changes the dynamic but ain't nobody got time for that. Also, with the intercooler I haven't seen BATs (charge air temp on the FiST) any past 7 degrees over ambient even after multiple 3rd gear pulls which is crazy. The smaller stock intercooler would rocket up whenever I did a WOT pull.

    I really look forward to autox this year and also maybe trying my luck on the 1/4. I haven't drag raced this car yet but I feel it should be on par with a stock MS3. Not sure if it'll be 100mph club without the e30 tune flashed but hey, it's fun either way.

    Definitely happy with everything I've installed and hopefully this keeps me happy for a while! The only thing I'd like to do in the meanwhile is delete my resonator. Just need to find the time to do it. Like I've said before, that reportedly doesn't make the car any louder cruising on the highway, it just gives you a little growl when you step on it.

    Still looks stock @Maisonvi !!

    Very nice. That MS oil cap is a subtle touch.

    Drove about 80 miles on the Dizzy tune so far and took some logs for Jason last night. I believe his flash tunes include 1 cleanup so maybe he'll make changes, maybe he won't. Not sure.

    Anyway, I corrected my vdyno for DJ since Jason advertises his numbers as DJ I believe. I'm close to his test car but dyno numbers don't mean much other than for comparison. Jason's numbers on the dyno are higher, but this is 3rd gear vs. his 4th gear testing (so far as I can tell).

    3rd DJ.jpg

    It's pretty neat looking at the logs as well. The car's ability to add or subtract spark advance in case of a misfire event is pretty impressive. You can see an advance per cylinder and retard per cylinder as well if there's any issues with that specific cylinder. If you see each cylinder advancing it's spark at the same rate, then you know everything is hunky dory and happy. This is all happening within hundredths of a second too which is crazy.

    Either way, for a 2700# car with so few mods, I think the power is pretty stout. I'm very happy with how drivable the map is and the MPGs I've been getting.

    Once Jason responds to my initial 93 octane logs, I'll toss in a splash of ethanol and see how e30 feels! I have no idea what that'll be like but he's seeing 230whp and over 300wtq on ethanol with the same mods as I am so I'm pretty pumped. I have a feeling the first couple gears will be pretty useless but that's just good fun.

    Impressive. How good does the drivetrain hold up? Any clutch worries?

    The fastest Fiesta ST (in the low 11s) just switched to an aftermarket clutch. Cars are often 300+whp and there's no issues with them that the users mention.

    It's a parts car that honestly works great. Engine out of the Escape, clutch (I think) from a Focus ST, etc. so all parts are from cars dramatically heavier and they seem to hold together no matter what people throw at them.

    Is that a flex fuel pump? Yes it is!

    IMG_20190407_144154.jpg

    Running Dizzy's e30 tune at the moment and it a whole lot of fun! I haven't logged it yet but I likely will tonight so stay tuned. The turbo comes in crazy fast now though and it seems to hold boost longer than before. On the drive home from the pump I even hit 26psi so she's cooking for sure. The tune itself feels very smooth and the throttle on/off is very nice. I always felt with my e48 tune on the speed the throttle on/off was real jumpy unless I had the eth % perfect. This isn't a real adjustable flex fuel setup but I do feel the car can adjust pretty well for +/- 5% or so in content.

    FMIC is still holding up really well with these high boost #s coming from the hairdryer of a turbo. I only see a few degree change in BAT on a 3rd gear pull which is impressive. I'll probably man up and take a couple of 4th gear logs tonight and see how the vdyno is looking!

    Oh, and somehow the computer is still reporting 31+mpg on my normal commute. Crazy how we really have not lost any efficiency with the higher fuel scalars needed for ethanol.

    And I was able to nab a 4th gear log last night. The air was pretty warm though so I may try again in the cooler weather to pump those numbers up ;)

    4th dj.jpg

    Really not awful though for so few bolt-ons and I'm still getting north of 30mpg.

    File this under suck ass news. Parked on the street in front of my GF's house (she lives in a neighborhood in a 25 zone) and got hit last night. The person didn't even leave any info. It definitely could have been worse but it's obviously still super annoying. Total of 4 body panels damaged and scratched all the way to the metal.

    Looking at the damage and knowing how I was parked, the person was literally driving on the wrong side of the road. So far as I can tell, they side swiped my bumper with theirs, their mirror hit my hood, then they swerved and clipped my mirror on their way back to their destination.

    People suck!

    Filed the police report, reported it to insurance, and now I just need to bring it to a body shop. At the very least I'm out my $500 deductible which is quite annoying but hey, if they paint my whole hood, all the little rock chips will at least be gone!!

    The shop I'm going to was recommended to my by a good friend (dude who owns the only shop I trusted to work on my MS3) so I have faith they'll do a great job. I'm definitely going to tell them how anal I am about the car and see how much they'd be able to justify repainting. If I got the whole hood and bumper that would be awesome since those are major wear areas on a daily driven highway cruiser. I feel like I'll want to clear bra them if it looks too good!!

    Oh well, shit happens I guess. It just sucks that this happened in the weekend before my finals to finish up my bachelor's degree. Luckily the car is entirely drivable still and my sister has a spare car I can borrow since she just bought a new van for the kiddos.

    And thank you! Seiko 5 for the win :D I was going to pray for some graduation gift money and pick up the new Orient Kamasu but now it's looking that $ is going to get diverted into my Fiesta.

    I remember riding around in my speed3 when I first got it. I thought it was a pretty quick car, and felt tossable and small just like my 2.0 MZ3.

    Fiesta must be a riot at 210+ whp, almost the same hp as a stock speed, more torque, lighter car.

    Sucks about the hit and run. They're going to have to blend the paint. I wouldn't be surprised if they do the whole hood.

    Once I set up the inspection I'm sure I'll have a better idea of what they'll be able to do. The Kona Blue has a pretty intense sparkle to it so I'm not sure that can be blended. Fingers crossed they're able to redo the bumper and hood and then just do their best on that A pillar.

    I'm lucky they didn't hit it harder! Car is still drivable and no suspension components were touched so either way, she'll be back to good soon enough.

    Based on the damage I would guess it was someone on a bicycle that had a few too many wobbly pops...

    Maybe even a motor scooter where the brake handle hit my hood? Not sure if a bicycle could cause that damage to my bumper.

    Welp! So it looks like my stock FiST build may have come to an abrupt end. Got t-boned on Wednesday and she sure looks like a total loss. I was safe in the accident though and at the end of the day, that is all that really matters.

    IMG_20200610_174341.jpg

    I've uninstalled the Accessport at least before the body shop took the car. I'll probably leave on the FMIC, intake, and RMM though since together they're probably only worth like $300 combined and I really don't want to ship a FMIC.

    Dashcam footage:

    Currently considering:
    * Toyota Tacoma
    * VW GTI
    * Civic SI
    * Ford Fusion

    Really the main criteria is that the car isn't TOO nice to let a slightly wet dog hang out in the back seat.
